Worth it
Great value. Very helpful for a long hike in the mountains. Light and strong. Had an issue when it didn't want to lock, but it was easy to fix. Handle feels good, has good grip, but after many hours of hiking handle started to rub fingers a little.

Love how I’m able to adjust to my height
Works really well especially during winter months with spikes that I’ve placed on the ends making easy to keep my balance on ice and snow. I always make sure to have these in my vehicle during winter months as well as my snow shoes since the whether is so unpredictable in my state. It’s easy to adjust to my height and stays locked in place helping me with stability

Excellent poles with key features not found in others but with a minor design flaw
Just tried these in Glacier National Park and they performed well. Got the twist lock version, which is much better than the other types because (i) poles are lighter, and most importantly (ii) poles include internal shock absorbers, which are very useful on the downhill. Poles supported my weight well both uphill and downhill, and only rarely slid. Key to using the shock absorbers is to activate them by twisting back just a bit until hearing a click after tightening. This is not well explained in the product description but it is a very useful function. Straps have the correct design, which (unlike many other inexpensive poles out there) lay flat on the palm of the hand when grabbing them correctly (see videos on the internet about how to correctly use the straps to grab hiking poles). However, a minor design flaw: the stopper of the straps was placed too far into the strap end while the other end has thicker width that prevents the strap from reducing its size. This makes the straps too big for normal-sized hands without gloves. I have big hands and the straps were way too big for me, resulting in my grip being 2 inches below the optimal gripping point which is at the very top. After returning from my trip, I solved this problem by changing the straps for ones from an old pair of poles that don't have this design flaw. I'd recommend the product owner to redesign the straps. Nevertheless, these are excellent poles that overdeliver for the price they cost.

Great but a little "twangy"
I have a problem with balance so I wanted to try out hiking poles to see if they'd help, but I wanted a cheaper pair in case I didn't like them. The price on these fit the bill, and they shipped to me in a timely manner. I've hiked my regular 2 mile daily hike with these now for at least 30 times and I like them a lot. They seem strong, and help me with my walking. They adjust easily and hold tight. The inner and outer tubes do "twang" a little which is my only complaint about them, but I think any two piece pole will do that. These also came with a second set of feet which I like because the standard larger round ones grab and hold too much mud which make them heavy. The smaller cup shaped round ones don't hold the mud and still keep the weight down. If I liked these, I was planning on getting a lighter, more expensive set of hiking poles, but now don't feel I need to as these work fine for what I do.

Nice quality - twist lock w spring option
I’m 75 and live in Vermont all winter so bought these to walk outside in snowy conditions. They work fine for my needs. I bought the twist lock which has a bit of a spring action which I like. This has been a snowy year and these came with snow and mud attachments. I had to spend a bit of time setting these up to get the spring to work but that was mostly because I didn’t initially read the directions. Once I did they were easy to set up. I’m not doing any hard core hiking but it’s nice to have some stability outside when I need it. If I was still trekking some I would probably get better ones but from reviews people appear as happy with these as poles twice their price.

Poor Design and Not Safe for Seniors—Can’t Be Trusted for Actual Support
I bought this set of trekking poles for a senior family member who needs a little extra stability while walking. We chose the telescoping twist-lock version with the foam (EVA) grip, hoping it would be more comfortable than the slippery plastic on traditional canes. Unfortunately, the first pole we tried was defective right out of the box. It extended fine at first, but once it reached the stop mark, it locked up and refused to retract. The twist-lock mechanism completely seized. No amount of gentle coaxing or careful twisting would free it up again—so we were left with one pole stuck fully extended and totally unusable. Even more frustrating is the fact that the pole still allowed the shock absorber spring to engage and disengage. That function worked—but that’s the last thing that matters when the core function of extending and collapsing the pole doesn’t. The shock-absorbing feature itself isn't well-suited for someone with mobility issues. It introduces an odd “give” that makes the pole feel unstable under pressure. When walking support is the goal, a stick that bounces is not only unhelpful—it’s dangerous. What really bothered me was the card in the box that stated these poles aren’t designed to support actual weight. That’s a dealbreaker. If a pole isn’t made to hold weight, then it’s not appropriate for seniors, or for anyone needing dependable walking assistance. That disclaimer should be listed clearly in the product description—before you buy it—not buried in the packaging after it arrives. The extra accessories—rubber boot feet, multiple sizes of snow and mud baskets—might appeal to hardcore hikers, but they’re pointless for everyday use. In this case, what mattered most was safety, reliability, and ease of use. And this product failed at all three.

High quality, low price
Whenever my wife and I travel we brinng these. They collapse to fit inside a large suitcase and telescope to adjust to your height. We live in pancake flat South Florida so going up or down hills or even steps like in the subways of New York require an extra effort. One each is enough to give us the balance and confidence to walk for miles in any terrain. I like to hike nature trails and use mine to turn over rocks or limbs which expose hidden critters and although I haven't had to yet, would ward off animals or other menaces. Very reasonable price.

Light & comforable but not adjustable
It works really great, EXCEPT for the adjustment part! No matter how I try, I can no longer adjust the poles. Luckily they are both at the length I need them but it is very annoying that I cannot retract them to store more easily in the car. The first few times I tried to it worked, though it was a crap shoot as I had to just keep trying over and over, and then suddenly they would release to adjust. But after only doing so a few times, they will not longer adjust. Otherwise they work great, are super light and easy to walk with. Just don’t count on being able to adjust the length very many times.

Very good value for the budget-minded hiker.
These CMT hiking aluminum poles were a great help on a recent 8.6 km hike. They were light-weight to carry around, the anti-shock feature absorbed the rough impacts well on the decent. The adjustable poles were comfortable on the hands during the 4 hour hike. Very good value for the price paid. Strongly recommended for anyone looking for a good pair of hiking poles without paying the high price of a pair of carbon poles. They even included bonus attachments.

Love the telescoping action
Love the telescoping action, accessories for all occasions. One pole seems to shake or vibrate in use, only used them once will have to try adjustment.
