Oh my GOSH this book is TERRIFIC! I only met Miranda a few weeks ago, but ever since I go on youtube at least every couple days, because she's ALWAYS good for laughs and she makes my day! This book is almost as good! It's longer than I thought it would be, which is good! I didn't read straight thru it, but read different portions and I was totally hooping and hollering; this stuff is SO funny, just like the videos! I think ALL Mirfanduhs will LOVE this book! I thought it was kind of expensive, but since I have gotten it, I don't feel that way anymore; it was worth every penny! Now if I'm ever down, I can just grab this book and get cheered up! I would not take it to work though. From the loud way I was screeching and laughing at the book, I think they would look at me really weird at work! I would have to do like Miranda says in the book. Change the screen really quick to porn, because it's easier to explain! I don't know as I would recommend this book for people who do not watch Miranda. BUT! If you don't watch her, you should check out a couple videos of hers every day for a week or so, and see if she grows on you like she did on me. (The first two times I didn't think she was funny, but after that I started wanting to see some of her videos every day!) Once you watch her for a little while, if you like her, then you could order the book and really appreciate it. Colleen, you rock, chick!

My daughter really wanted this book. She loves YouTube and watches this character all the time so I was familiar with her before buying the book. It's funny. Maybe not exactly "my" idea of funny but my daughter loved it and read it cover to cover the first day and has picked it back up every night to read again. Even I laughed a few times at the characters over the top antics I read some of the one star reviews and read where some people said this book is too old for their child. Only you can decide what your child can and cannot watch or read. I'm extremely open with my child. Everything she asks me , I answer. I had no problem with ANYTHING in the book. It's obviously satire, which my child is smart enough to get. I saw it mention nothing that my child doesn't know about or I'd feel uncomfortable with her reading about. It's funny and silly and my little girl likes it. She's reading which is great. There is some interactive components in the book which is awesome. You can also access special videos by scanning a code with your phone to open it up. That was cool I thought. All in all, it was a good book that my eleven year old little girl loved.

Got this for my 14-year-old brother who is very into YouTube celebrities, especially Miranda. He's not a fan of reading novels, but since this book is more of a scrapbook with only 20 or so words on a dense page, it is easy to flip through and laugh at. We are not finicky about a 14 year old boy reading about puberty or other similar topics, given that he has unfettered access to the internet anyway, but for a younger fan whose parents already monitor online activities or perhaps do not have a sense of humor about these things, I would recommend those parents read the book in its entirety before giving it to their child. This book is really only for people who are already fans of Miranda and understand her humor and persona, so it is pretty much a surefire good gift for those fans and may be met with bewilderment by anyone else. Mirfandas, get your selp helfed!

Great little book

I read all the negative reviews AFTER I got the book. I agree with a few things; Miranda's videos are much better, but if you're a big Mirfanda you'll have fun with the book. As for the complaints about spelnig errreors etc. Really? The book patterned after Miranda's unique take on her own language, obviously some folks are not familiar with Miranda sings and therefor should not shoot her down for this. As for the book being inappropriate? I agree fully there are a few sections/pages that should have been omitted entirely considering the target audience is pre-teens, specifically the 4 pages on puberty which begin on page-60 (they come with a warning, but it's hard to take seriously because nothing is serious in this book). This crass stuff should have been left out, as should the page on wiping (page-155). Pages 60 thru 63 deal with porn as only Miranda can, and I agree it is not a good fit for those who have kids too young or at a level to deal with this topic, although it's handled in true Miranda style. If the age and level of awareness are right, it is very funny. These valid points stole the 5th star. You will enjoy the rest of it if you are a true Mirfanda. I recommend skimming it first! 10/23/15 Update: Finally got around to giving my daughter this book (note, she's 14 1/2). She does a very very good impression of Miranda Sings, she's reading the book in her Miranda Sings voice and I am rolling on the floor! Just a hint if you really want to ramp up the fun.

This book is awesome. It's a parody of a self help book written by the YouTube sensation, Miranda Sings. Mothers everywhere are mad for some reason because it uses the word "Porn" sometimes. But she's just saying things like "don't go outside in a t-shirt because that's porn". She approaches it from an angle that is both funny and enjoyable. Like, she's saying those stupid things on purpose because that's her persona. She's a grown woman. She's not going to go out and write a rated G children's book. So don't buy this and then complain that it's not for kids. We all know it's not for kids. She's not a children's book author. Come on, people. This is why we can't have nice things. 10/10 would recommend this book to all of my friends.

Mir hat das Buch sehr sehr gut gefallen sollte ein zweiter Teil rauskommen wird der sich sofort gekauft. An einem Tag durchlesen kann es wirklich nur empfehlen super lustig. Ein echter mirfanda wird es lieben !!

Buen libro que describe muy bien el humor y la vida del personaje.

"Selp-Helf", le best-seller "écrit" par Miranda Sings (Aka Colleen Ballinger) et Christopher Ballinger, est une petite merveille! On imagine parfaitement le personnage comique qu'est Miranda le rédiger en criant sur des feutres un peu paresseux, ou en retrouvant des cheveux entre les pages. Un livre qui colle vraiment au personnage donc, et qui ne manquera certainement pas de séduire les fans. #MirandaForPresidant

LOL! That is what we did when we read this book! Miranda Sings is Hilarious, silly and funny and this selp helf book is all that! Me and my daughter just love Miranda Sings and this book is as if your watching her videos but In book form, It's Soooo good!! I recommend that you watch Miranda's videos first before you read this book cuz you won't have the same experience. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs cheering up or just to have a good laugh, we definitely had more than one laugh out loud moment while reading this. This is the mostly easy to understand book and Its also quite a short book, there isn't much writing on each page but the book also has cut outs ( not that any mirfanda fans would ever cut them out (ie) my daughter) It also has really cool QR codes that you can scan to go to websites and videos. So If you're a mirfanda fan then this book will make you laugh! “What the even heck?!” Da you know it

It's Miranda...how can you hate it? The book is surprisingly well put together..the artwork is amazing...so funny! I purchased this for my daughter but I have read it as well :)
