Pilot Iroshizuku Fountain Pen Ink – 50 ml Bottle – Kon-peki Deep Azure Blue (Japan Import)

A very beautiful ink with wonderful presentation. I love writing with this ink because of how good it looks and how smoothly it flows. Unfortunately, it is not waterproof, so it bleeds readily upon wetting the paper. This does mean, though, that it washes out of clothes pretty well, so when my pens leak I seem to have about an hour or so to change and get stuff in the wash. Otherwise, I have found (for all stains, but this in particular) that if you keep the stain wet with water you can wash it out later, like after a plane lands. Not what I would call "washable," but it launders out most of the time, and hasn't stained any of my countertops yet, either. Additionally, the bottle is absolutely gorgeous! It reminds me of a fancy cologne or perfume. My only issue is that the cap doesn't prevent the ink from getting onto the top of the opening on the bottle, so I have to wipe it off so I can brace my hand on it to fill my pens. The bottle is very high quality and features a nice little dip at the bottom to allow one to get the last of the ink out easily. My only gripe with this bottle is that there is nowhere to rest the pen when filling without dunking half the pen in the ink, so I have to float or brace on top of the container to avoid staining my nice, elderly pens.

This ink works so well and the color is perfect. The bottle looks like something that colnonge would come and looks great on any desk.

These are my favorite inks across three continents of traveling and writing by hand. From the beautiful bottles (which even come in very pretty boxes) to absolutely gorgeous ink colors, I've got no complaints. This particular color dries fast enough for me as a right-y, and only feathers on cheap paper... which you shouldn't be using a fountain pen on anyway. Through both Japanese and European nibs ranging from EF to Bold, these inks are my go-to. Lots of places on the internet you can look at real examples of the colors, and I'd recommend you do that to get a feel for what you want, but my favorites from this line are Ama-iro, Kon-Peki, and Tsuki-yo.

Good quality ink. The bottle is quite lovely. It’s a keeper if the bottle ever becomes empty. The blue ink writes well, although as far as a blue goes, it’s a bit bright almost to the point of green. I’d have to say Montblanc royal blue is still the absolute best blue you can get. Not sure how much of this blue I’ll use, but it looks great on my desk.

Received my bottle of ink today while on my way out of the door. Was marking some papers during lunch, using a Jinhao X750 with a Goulet 1.1 stub nib. Decided to wipe off the nib & feed, and dip the nib into the wonder from Japan. I was extremely pleased with the richness of the color. Got home, and pulled out another pen with a 1.1 stub, inked it with the Kon-Peki, and used a Rhodia Dotpad. I did not notice any feathering. There was a very slight echo on side 2. Did not experience any bleedthrough. Dry time with the stub nib was 26-27 secs. on Rhodia paper. Cheaper paper dry time was quicker, however, there was bleedthroughout because the paper soaks up the ink causing bleedthrough. I also found the ink to be well behaved. That stub nib really makes it bold and catches your eyes. This is my first bottle of Iroshizuku. The bottle itself is nice looking. I have read many, many positive reviews for Iroshizuku inks, and now I know why. Weight of the bottle is 239 grams (8.43 oz). It is a more costly ink, so I am really going to enjoy this as long as possible!

I received this ink today, and the product was overwhelmingly beautiful. From the packaging to the final bottle of ink - I knew I was opening a quality product. The ink is a rich blue in color, and looks great on paper. Writes smoothly with my Monteverde Invincia Stealth. I got the pen as a gift last christmas. This ink was the only thing I got for my birthday this year - and all I actually wanted. Unfortunately, the bottle was a bit... slippery. When I twisted it to open it, I dropped it. While the cap was off. There was no seal under the cap. There is now a stain the shape of a football on my carpet, and I have several interesting product photos where I happened to look like I have bathed in the blue blood of my enemies. My dog got in on the fun, and ran through it - tracking little blue tracks all through the apartment. I had to trash a couple of towels, and emergency bathe my dog, but everything worked out in the end. 5/5 stars for my first ever bottle of ink. Be cautious when opening, and consider containing any pets you may have to prevent them in case of disaster. Only $20 is a bargain, even though I spilled it all over my carpets causing hundreds of dollars in damage, I will buy this ink again. You can see the photos here: http://imgur.com/a/ovkXy

The 26 Pilot Iroshizuku inks are an insane - and yet supremely affordable - luxury that will bring you pleasure every time you use them. For me, the use of a fountain is a profoundly irrational and highly pleasing act. Except for very specific strokes in calligraphy, modern ball point pens and rollerballs provide a reliable, mess-free, waterproof writing experience that is perfectly functional and technically superior to a fountain pen. However, the most important parts of life have almost nothing to do with "technical superiority." The goal of writing is "connection" and surely the act itself should be pleasurable. A fountain pen (I prefer the Pilot capless Fermo) gliding over a smooth paper is wonderfully self-indulgent and brings out the most irrational and creative side to you. If you are writing for business, the gray, blue, and black Iroshizuku inks all are suitable conservative and yet beautifully packaged and linked to an amazing tradition of writing in Japan. If you are note taking, idea journaling, or writing for pleasure, there are many inspiring colors in the Iroshizuku ("color drop") line. In combination with an ink syringe, it is only a little effort to change out the colors of ink in one or three pens. This shade - Kon-Peki ("cerulean blue") is a beautiful rich shade of blue.

Jak można byłoby się spodziewać otrzymujemy zarówno butelkę jak i atrament najwyższej jakości. Na dobrej jakości papierze widać piękne cieniowanie, przepływ jest genialny. Porównując jednak do moich pozostałych atramentów za połowę tej ceny można mieć produkt całkiem porównywalny jeżeli chodzi o atrament, butelka za to zdecydowanie najładniejsza ze wszystkich. Podsumowując, polecam spróbować, ale na dłuższą metę atrament jest niestety mało opłacalny.
