Held up through the bass derby, classic mono that just works
Spooled this on my son's spincast for his Cub Scouts bass derby and watched him pull in largemouth one after another with zero line failures. Knot strength held through every fish, including a couple that ran him into weeds and rocks. Memory is what you'd expect from any 8lb mono, light coil if you leave it sit a week, but a quick stretch through your fingers before the first cast and it lays flat. Casting is smooth without the wind knots cheap mono throws on a kid's setup. Compared to P-Line and Stren in the same weight I've used before, Trilene XL has the best balance of stretch and abrasion resistance for the price. 330yd will cover at least a couple seasons. Will keep buying.

best all around mono line
i've been fishing with the red box trilene monofillament for over 30 years. I've tried other lines, but this one always works where other twist and knot or have too much memory. Trilene XL is always consistenly good. There are probably better lines out there, but for the price, performance, and general availability, i'll stick with Trilene XL.

Pros -Smooth casting, you can make long and accurate throws all day -Basically invisible in the water -I purchased 8lb line, it’s very strong and I had no issues pulling in good size fish Cons -Stretches a lot so you have to wheel in before setting the hook in some cases -Tangles with other line too easily

DO NOT BUY!!
This line started twisting and knotting up immediately. Before it was even used on my son's fishing line, we had issues with it. The attached photo is from the first (and only) cast using this line. It's garbage and I'm very disappointed, especially as I was unable to return it. Such a waste of money. I will never buy this again.
