I want to use a higj quality pedal system like this to attach a second bass pedal to the front of my bass drum. Can I adapt this ?

The spring systems are different for a bass drum pedal and a hi hat pedal. I would think it would be easier to just buy a 2nd pedal than to try and convert the pedal retrofit it.

How.long is the cable?

Its about 6 feet long. The action is real stiff, I sprayed WD 40 down the cable but it is still tight. The manufacturer needs to offer a shorter cable 4 to 4.5 feet long and they need to make it where the cable is lubed or where the drummer can lube it. I'm not really pleased with it. If you haven't bought one, Don't ! I also had to buy a double clamp to attach it to a cymbal stand.
