We wanted to add more efficient storage to a corner closet in a bedroom. The depth on either side of the closet is only 11.5” and 13.5” so we needed something without a lot of depth. We purchased two Rubbermaid Closet Kits (the 4-6 ft. and 2-4 ft. kits) and combined most of the pieces to create this configuration. The previous configuration had a clothing rod (not pictured) spanning in front of the corner shelves making them very difficult to get to. The new configuration is completely open and I made sure to connect the shelves in the corners for maximum space. One important feature to note is that there are A shelves and B shelves. The B shelves can overlap the A shelves, then they are locked into place with sliding locks that are built into the top of the brackets. This means NO CUTTING if the shelves don’t match the measurements needed. I used tiny clear zip ties to secure the shelves to each other where they met in the corners, though they weren’t absolutely necessary. The far left side is intended for longer dresses/pants and we may add other accessories like drawers or shoe racks if we find that we can spare the clothing space. These were easy to install, the instructions were very clear, and I completed the job in a short amount of time. They are sturdy and attractive. We’re very happy we purchased these!

Box arrived intact and complete. Was easy to install but replace the wall anchors with higher quality ones if attaching to drywall. The included ones are garbage. Turned a small closet with minimal storage into a much more useable space with twice the storage.

Love the flexibility of this set. Easy installation instructions and then you can configure it any way you need to.

Edit 6/17/23: I discovered the difference between this system and the Homefree series I used in other closets: the upright/standards of this Configurations system are deeper by 1/4 inch. This makes the new system sit off the wall slightly more than the old style. The standards from the two systems cannot be used together because the brackets and locking slots for the wire shelves would be at two different depths. If laminate shelves were used ,then it might work fine. Original post: The description on the box label did not match the contents - and I'm happy about that! I wanted a kit like Rubbermaid FastTrack and Homefree series from a few years ago. The contents of this 3-6 ft Configurations Classic Closet kit are exactly the same as the previous kits I bought from my big box store. The assembly instructions for this kit are 3H11 and can be downloaded from the Rubbermaid assembly instructions website. This kit has 2 rails at 36 in, 4 upright/standards at 48 in, 2 wire shelves at 36 in, and 3 wire shelves at 26 in, 2 rods at 36 in, 2 rods at 26 in; plus the brackets, hangers, rail covers, and hardware. The box number is 2060339 and the Rubbermaid website show the correct pieces and parts as I received them. Don't know why the printed label on the box describes different rails and uprights.

I’ve only mounted Container Store Elfa closet systems (3) in prior homes. That being said, I’m not thrilled with this Rubbermaid system. The plastic parts (rod brackets and shelf locks) will likely fail sooner than later. I did not follow exact directions for my odd 39” closet space with brackets 6” from walls because I wanted to squeeze in a section for long hanging garments. I had little confidence in the provided screws and anchors so I used leftover ones used for Elfa systems and secured additional points. Purchased the wider 3’-6’ kit so I could configure a long hang section. It fits well if you don’t have to go by the instructions. Wish Rubbermaid sold individual pieces because I have a bunch of leftover parts and could use this in another closet with one more vertical hanging piece. What a waste. There were no missing parts in the box. Organization is nice because of multiple shelves and rods. Works fine for a light use hall closet.
