This also confused me, I thought the lid was the wrong one, but once you get it on, you can see that it's a good fit. This is handy because every time you reach for a cotton pad, you dont want the lid falling off. The picture actually didnt make clear to me that the cylinder is entirely open from top to bottom in one area, about an inch and a half wide. This is so you can reach a pad with your finger tips. I thought you just took the lid off, turned it upside down, and got a couple out. That isn't how it works, you take them out the side.I also bought the cotton ball and swab holder, without the lids. It's offered in two styles, lids or no lids. I thought the one without lids made more sense for me, and that version costs a few dollars less.Finally, I bought the Ikee makeup organizer for $20.12, and with these 3 things, the bathroom counter is entirely cleaned up, stuff on the loose in the drawers is now tidy and attractive, and I can find what I'm looking for.
