Why is this better than human tuna? Price seems the same?

It doesn't stink like human tuna. It is portioned out in the right amount when you want to provide it so you don't have to worry about storing a 1/2 used can. My cat likes it more than canned tuna.

Do these have an expiration date attached to them?

Yes, they do have an expiration date stamped on the box and on each individual serving.

Once opened does it need to be refrigerated?

When I had 2 cats they each had half, but now I have 1 cat and she gets one 1/2 in the afternoon and the other half in the evening so I refrigerate it just to be on the safe side. She gets it only as a Sunday treat. I alternate it with Inauba creamy and I do the same with that. I refrigerate it after she gets the first half.
