We needed something to put on the doors or our AirBNB when we travel as we have an autistic child that likes to elope and we needed something to alert us if he tries to do so in the middle of the night. These things are super loud. And while, yes they are super sensitive and you're not going to open the door they're on or remove them without them going off, you can successfully turn them off without setting them off. You just have to make sure the first thing you touch is the off switch. My wife normally covers it with a towel when she goes to turn it off so it doesn't hurt anyone's ears. Just make sure that when you set it, that it doesn't start bouncing around when you let go after turning it on, you only have a second or two before it's armed.

Purchase for travel/hotel room security. It is loud and will definitely deter a break-in attempt or alert you if someone is attempting to access your room while you're sleeping. Problem is I also set it off while trying to disarm because it is sensitive.

The volume really didn't adjust to a lower sound, but I thought thats ok because it's very loud and would scare the crap out of someone not expecting it

I love this set of doorknob vibration alarms!! Their sensitivity to activate can be adjusted to your needs, as can the volume of the alarm. It can be adjusted to remain on its alarm sound continuously or turn off after 30 seconds. They’re absolutely marvelous! I will buy another set of two alarms, they’re so great!

It's exactly the product I was looking for. It will definitely alarm, loudly, when the door opens. Easily activated or deactivated.

The product works but getting batteries to fit the device can be a struggle until one gets the hang of it. They fit very tightly. Although the directions explain how to adjust the sensitivity level (volume) of the alarm options the loudness sounds the same on the ones sent to me. The delay before sound set button works. However, it is not a simple thing to set the alarm to permanently delay and/or to use a certian volumne if it will do those things and this is something this reviewer hasn't yet mastered and wonders if the device will actually do? It can be hung on a door knob and return to stillness there, but I suspect that every time one tries to remove it within the delay frame and get it turned off so that it doesn't harm one's ears (sound can be too much after awhile at 130 db if I got that right), one will find that doing be hit or miss or that the alarm will nearly always go off . Other than for these things it is one of the better devices in terms of loud enough sound to wake people up inside a house and alert people on the outside as most devices use only 97-110-120 db in the USA that do this door knob thing or are applied to windows and carry key chains and the like. It also has a good sturdy feel and feels good in the hands and the back cover slides off easily enough for battery change.

These work well, but are SUPER sensitive and very loud, so be aware when setting up that you may have to choose a less sensitive setting or they may trigger more easily than you prefer. Once we found the right setting, it was a great option for my mother.

Batteries do not fit compartment.
