Entertainment for You --- Fun for your Dog
I had seen a friend with this toy for her dog. I asked if I could try it for my two dogs (mini schnauzer & chihuahua/pug mix). My dogs loved it! The only way they'll stop playing with it is if you pick it up or when they finally realize there aren't anymore treats available. I now own two of the 5" (which is really 4" in diameter) and one 3". If I know I'll be gone for a while, I'll load up all 3 and they'll have more than enough food/stimulation while I'm out. I am so satisfied with these toys, I looked up the manufacturer and purchased the Large Buster Food Cube. Why? -Simply for variety. The Buster doesn't get quite as good of a following from my dogs as the ball, but it has its own advantages. The chips seen in another reviewers photo(s)..., this happened to me as well. When inspecting the three IQ Balls I have for my dogs, no chipping of the small fins as shown in the photo(s) changed the integrity of the ball. The chips will most likely happen to everyone if your dog is even somewhat of a chewer. I'm not putting these on display for family/friends to come see. They're dog toys. If your dog is a fierce chewer, only use the ball as an entertaining feeding option. The Buster Food Cube could be used permanently with the most determined chewers. Please don't be swayed by those photos. I was a little concerned when I had seen them prior to ordering. Now, I know how inconsequential those chips are and how much those photos make it appear like a potential deal-breaker. Tennis balls and the Kong toy used to be my favorites for my dogs. Now the Treat Ball and Buster Food Cube are the favorites. Treat Ball - Pros ----------------- -More fun for my dogs than the Buster Food Cube -Adjustable food dispensing - you can set it to be depleted quickly, the cube will take a lot longer, relatively Buster Food Cube - Pros ------------------------ -Holds more food -A bit more challenging than the ball -Very quiet compared to the ball (you'll experience a constant rolling until the ball crashes into your wall, furniture, etc. - nothing harmful to either) -Rarely, if ever does it get stuck (with the ball - even the larger size - you may find times when your dog has given up because it has been lost under an accommodating piece of furniture; the cube is truly too large to get trapped) -More durable than the ball - the most determined chewers will not have success destroying this toy *** If OurPets would ever make a larger sized ball (Buster Food Cube diameter), I would buy that in a second. This would keep it from being stuck as often and I would like the increased food capacity, as the cube has. Buster Food Cube Large Size (Colors May Vary)

Fun for your dog and fun for you to watch their antics with this Interactive IQ Treat Ball
This delightful ball is both a feeding utensil and a workout all in one! Your dog not only eats its calories, it burns them off at the same time! I have a little dachshund, Sophi, who loves her treat ball. They call it a treat ball but I use it for kibble that fits inside. Sophi doesn't need more treats than just a few every few days. If you fill this with treats, it's too much in my opinion, unless you have a really playful dog who needs to gain weight. You place the treats or kibbles inside one half of the ball (the one without the hole in it). Then you adjust the size of the hole in the white center piece to allow either one or a few pieces to fall into the chamber at a time. You place the white flat part over top of the kibbles and then screw on the other half. There is a hole in the end of the ball and once the kibble/treats roll around in the chamber and make their way through the one hole inside to the opposite chamber and then reach that hole, they fall out. Sounds complicated but it's not. This ball teaches the dog that rolling the ball makes treats/kibble fall out and they get to enjoy them. This is where IQ in the name comes in. It doesn't take long for a dog to figure out that they get treats by rolling the ball around and making them fall out. Not only does the dog get exercise pushing the ball around your floor, it really is entertaining to watch. Our Sophi hears the kibbles fall out and if she doesn't immediately see them, because the ball continues to roll, we get to see that "where are they?" and the floppy dachshund ears frantically searching. We have hardwood floors so the ball rolling quickly and bumping into table legs and furniture, Sophi trying to get the kibbles--it's quite a show that has us laughing a lot. It's a sturdy plastic ball, easy to fill and easy to put together. Small enough to tuck into a bag for travel--about the size of a baseball, or smaller. Will roll easy on carpet with a dog pushing it with their nose or very quickly on hardwood. Rather noisy on hardwood floors with the assertiveness of the dog and it bumping into things, so watching something on TV can be difficult. But the entertainment you get, who needs TV? It'll only hold about 1/2 c or a little more of small kibbles (you cannot pack it full) so it's more for multiple feedings, snacking or play. I ordered 2 of these so that when one was used and needed cleaned, there was always a clean one. I throw them in dish water or the dishwasher, top rack with no problem. No cracks or breaks in almost a yr of use. Highly recommend this interactive treat ball. Not only will your dog enjoy it, you will enjoy watching your dog enjoy it.

My dog loves this treat ball. It took him a little while to figure it out and become interested in it (he started off by trying to chew and lick the top to reach the treats inside), so I removed the white divider to let his kibble fall out a bit more easily. Now he knows he has to roll the ball along for it to dispense his food, I've put the divider back in and it gives him a good 30 minutes of entertainment at mealtimes, which is fantastic for me too because it uses up some of his teenage energy and stimulates his brain :) With the divider in, the 3" ball holds 1/4 cup of kibble, so I fill it twice for each of his meals. My dog is a 17lb terrier cross, and he can pick this size up with his mouth. We probably would have managed with the 5" size as well. Word of warning: if you have hardwood and tile floors in your house, this can get quite noisy and the ball will skid all over the place. But it's worth it to see your dog engaged and working for its food :)

i was pleasantly surprised (bought because of the price and reviews) that this is actually a brain teaser! i.e. when you have the treats only at the bottom, the weight makes the opening go to the top and harder to paw out. 10 out of 10 (and good quality too)
