Excellent purchase with one minor, acceptable, caveat!
I purchased the Vive Alternating Pressure Pad w/electric pump for my 79 year old father who is bedridden due to a stroke. We had been using the manual pump air mattresses that we'd bring home from the hospital, only to have them pop after about a month's use. Well, after going through 3 of those and dad always complaining of his body hurting after they'd deflate a little, I decided on this purchase! Boy, am I glad I did!! This air mattress, just after one night's use, has already had an immediately positive effect on my dad. Set to the firmest setting, what is recommended, had my dad sleeping like a baby and zero complaints of body aches!! He looks like a king content on his throne now!! My review for the mechanics of the equipment is this: the mattress is of high quality material, durable, soft, flexible, and comfortable to the touch with little to no plastic or rubber odor, which I greatly appreciate! Fits the Medicare provided hospital bed perfectly, and adjusts with the bed when raising or lowering either the foot or head! The electric pump is extremely quiet and does exactly as described, cycling every 6 minutes. I can actually see my dad's body rise and fall, ever so slightly, as the air gets redistributed through the channels! My one observation that I had not read about or anticipated was the heat that is produced by the little electrical power box that hooks onto the foot of the bed. After about a 5 hours of use, the room where my dad stays became very warm, as did my dad. I also would get very warm every time I went in to check on him or tend to him. I thought it was just us and the unusually warm temperature outside. Then it dawned on me that it was the power box. This is the only ongoing power item in the room sized 20x20 ft. While it's not a deal breaker in keeping the item, cause it's benefits far outweigh this one minor caveat, it is something that we have to consider. So, here's what we've done to accommodate the slight rise in temperature: we've changed our fleece winter sheets back to crisp cotton, which dad found quite refreshing, and put a little fan in the corner of the room to circulate the cooler air, the air closer to dad's bed seemed to get a bit stagnant with the extra heat. All that being said, and after making the slight modifications to accommodate the new air mattress, we are most pleased with this purchase! My only regret is that I didn't make it month's ago when first home with dad!

Great quality and very durable
My mom has been using this for over a year and it has worked perfectly. It really helped with comfort and support. The material is good quality and durable. It even comes with its own repair patches, which is very useful in case it gets punctured. Overall, it’s a great product and definitely worth it.

Skeptic-Proof Sore Saver
Pressure sores are sneaky. One heals, two more pop up. I bought the Vive alternating pressure mattress pad to stop that cycle for an elderly bed-bound patient who hates change and trying new things. After 48 hours of "keeping an open mind," I asked for her review. She likes the gentle massage of the alternating cells and the whisper-quiet pump. I liked the easy setup and that her pain is reduced. She hasn't asked me to return it, which is high praise indeed!

Good Product 4 Hospital Bed
My mom just came home from rehab from a stroke. They delivered a hospital bed and I knew it didn't look super comfortable. I got her some bamboo sheets and a nice comforter all off Amazon for the bed. This was my fav purchase by far. It's like a waterproof blowup feather bed substitute. Instead of worrying bout your loved one peeing the bed often. Lay this down on top of the mattress. It has this air pump that makes the mattress comfortable to your settings. It injects air and keeps them cool the entire night. Easy to just wipe down. Trust me, if you have an elderly person under your care this is worth buying.

A very beneficial product for the long-term bed-bound
A very satisfactory product. I ordered this five months ago and received it in a reasonable time. It is being used for a family member who has been disabled by a stroke. She was beginning to show signs of bed-sores from the use of a home hospital bed whose mattress (which has since been replaced) deteriorated very rapidly. This device has worked like a champ - easy install, has worked entirely reliably, and functions almost identically to the air mattress that she had in the hospital. The skin irritation - that was precursor to bed-sores - began to fade almost immediately and, after five months of use, no new evidence of skin irritation. It has a nice self-shutdown feature that will turn off after extended use - which is good for us as the patient does spend time out of bed during the day and we sometimes forget to turn it off manually. It's absolutely worth the modest cost in terms of preventing huge pain (and potentially fatal infection) problems for a long-term disabled patient that spends much of the day in bed.

No regrets! Great price!
Works perfectly for my father who has back pain from cancer. Easy to install. Quiet motor, just a little air swooshing. Just put it on top of the hospital bed. We have been using it for a month.

The best bed purchase for anyone, not just those who are bed-bound!
When I came across this mattress pad, I could not believe how affordable it was! So much cheaper than the full mattresses or beds similar, yet still had a pump with it, and covered the entire bed. My dad has been very ill the past few months, and pretty much confined to the bed for a good portion of those months, especially in the beginning. 3 weeks in, and he started to develop bed sores on his bottom. He was in and out of the hospital twice, and in a rehab center for 8 days in-between those hospital visits, and those bed sores, only got worse. So, I went searching for something to help with them so they would not get worse. This has been a huge help! They have not gotten any worse, no new ones have formed, and the other ones have started to heal nicely with the help of this mattress, Medihoney, and Terrasil. As someone who has chemical sensitivities, I was concerned I would need to air this out before bringing it in the house, but the smell was not very noticeable at all, until I put my nose right down to it. Even then, not terrible. Being vinyl, I just knew it would be awful smelling, but it wasn't. I was able to put it on his bed, and be in the small enclosed room he has with no issues at all. I thought once I closed his bedroom door, that it would then permeate the tiny room, but again to my surprise, it was not noticeable, even in the slightest way. I had left it, closed the door, and did not return for an hour, and I could not smell it. Such a pleasant surprise. The pump is so extremely quiet, we cannot hear it. Dad can never hear it at all, but I can sometimes hear a bit of a hiss when it is adjusting, BUT there has to be complete silence for me to hear it, and I have excellent hearing. If there is any movement going on in the room, or the next one, I cannot hear it. If the radio is on, forget it, no way can I hear it. It really is impressive how quiet it is. I have it hanging on the side of his platform bed at the end, and it hangs perfectly right there, and it's out of the way. It took about 10 minutes on the highest level for it to inflate. It does it very quietly and slowly. So much so, you might not think it's doing anything at all for a minute. Then you see some of the little pillowing form, and you know it's working like it should. Once it was inflated, I laid directly on top of it for a few minutes to see what it felt like. In just those few minutes, I decided I must have one for myself! It was very soothing, and comforting to lay on. I was kind of surprised to feel that way so quickly, but I really want one! I will have to wait though, as it is not a necessity for me, just a want. I sleep in my recliner anyway, but this could be used there as well since it is so adjustable. We have it set to the highest setting, and my dad didn't even notice it at all the first week or so. He said it was comfortable, but couldn't tell it was there. It was just like his mattress. He is just not very observant, and has dementia too, so I chalked it up to that. I asked him last night if he noticed it, now that it's been 2 full weeks, and he said he does, but that it's so subtle. I asked if he didn't have it anymore, would he miss it, and he said a resounding YES. I asked him if it was comforting the way it adjusts, and he also said yes. It's strangely comforting! Like I said, I want one! Mine did not come with any straps, but maybe it is meaning flaps that are at each end of the mattress to slide under the mattress to hold it in place. We have not really tucked them under, and it has stayed in place with no issues at all. I have it directly on the mattress, then have the fitted sheet on top of it, and also a bed pad on top of the sheet, which is probably why it took him so long to notice it doing anything. I do turn the mattress off when he gets up in the morning. I wasn't sure if it would need pumped up again every night, but it doesn't. It holds the air perfectly. Before he gets in bed, I turn it on again. It probably doesn't matter when I turn it back on though, because it is still fully inflated, which was a nice surprise. I thought I might need to turn it on 10 minutes before he would go to bed each night, but I am happy to say, that is not the case. Whether you need this for someone who is bed-bound, or want it just to have, it's one of the best, most inexpensive bed items for anyone. You'll wish you'd had it years ago. *This mattress pad was purchased at full price, not discounted or free.

Brilliant for the price
I bought this for my husband when he came out of hospital having broken his pelvis in multiple places - it was easy to assemble although the pipes are quite stiff to get on , but they stay on - it’s a very large single size, nice and long and tucks in at foot if the bed - I didn’t want to get a hospital bed as he’s tall - it’s been going 24 hours a day for several weeks - the little engine is very quiet and sits under the bed - the switch has a noticeable green light so you can see if it’s on or off from a distance - I really recommend this - forget the more expensive ones ! I don’t know about long term but it’s certainly ideal for post surgery - thank you

Top Service including swift delivery.
The mattress arrived very quickly, but I could not use it as it was wired for American 120 volt instead of 240 volt Australian- my fault for not checking first. Returning it was managed fairly.

Has helped and seems quite well made.
Bought for an older relative after they had suffered a broken hip and were having to spend more time in bed. Box on ours came in a pretty poor state, but mattress and pump inside appeared unused. We tried it out at home before taking it abroad to our relative. The mattress is suprisingly long (it covered the length of our 200cm bed easily). Using it the first time you just need to make sure that you manually straighten out any kinks or it won't fill. Once that's done, it fills and works well. A word of warning - it's nigh on impossible to get all the air out if you want to pack it up again. Pump reasonably quiet. Our relative found it did give relief and they were definitely more comfortable. They were starting to get some sore areas and this seemed to halt that. Coincidentally, we also shopped for a seat cushion around the same time and ended up (not through planning) with one from Vive also. That was also excellent and helped our relative a lot.
