It was well worth a little extra money to get the cast iron look and to avoid the obnoxious smell of all the rubber wheeled castors I've looked at. I did sand the edges of the wheels down a little, just in case they would mess up my new floors, but I'm not even sure that that was necessary. These seem very sturdy and have such a great industrial look to them. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying these again for my next project!
Review: Much better than plastic - I attached them to a 500 lb work bench with 1/4" bolts and had no problems. The steel wheels are a little bumpy on an unswept shop floor but they appear to be very solid.

Love these castors! It was well worth a little extra money to get the cast iron look and to avoid the obnoxious smell of all the rubber wheeled castors I've looked at. I did sand the edges of the wheels down a little, just in case they would mess up my new floors, but I'm not even sure that that was necessary. These seem very sturdy and have such a great industrial look to them. I'm pretty sure I'll be buying these again for my next project!

These are made and work very well, but I found an equivalent wheel at the my local HD for a few dollars less , so don't forget to shop around before ordering !
