When my little sisters (twins, 10 years younger than me) were born & grew to an age that they began appreciating things such as songs & powerful lyrics, they wanted this to be their song with our dad too. (Which was fine with me. Many siblings would have gotten upset & requested the younger ones find their own but i didn't mind and the choices are limited anyways. Lol) I am now grown, married and have 2 little girls of my own. My dad & I are very close, I'm still "daddy's girl" and the song "Butterfly Kisses" still chokes me & him up whenever we hear it. I came across this book during one of my Amazon browsing sessions while searching for new, interesting & age appropriate books for my daughters. I instantly clicked on this one & headed straight for the description & reviews. I noticed that many ladies left reviews stating that they bought this book as a gift for their dads, which hit me as an amazing idea. So, I stole (or maybe borrowed) the idea & immediately placed an order for 2 copies of the book. One for my daughters & one for my dad. Call me crazy, but I couldn't read this book out loud for quite some time because I'd get a couple pages in & get so choked up that I couldn't continue. Needless to say, my girls love the book and so does my husband. As for the copy for my dad...I wrote a quick "To, From, I love you, the date, etc." on the inside cover, I then wrote a handwritten note/letter to my dad & folded it so it could be slipped into the book between pages. Then, because of what I mentioned previously about my little sisters, I handed the book over to one of my sisters & told her to write a note/letter to our dad, hide it between pages & pass the book along to our other sister...who also wrote a note/letter, put hers between other pages & then left the book near the coffee pot after our dad went to bed one night so it'd be the first thing he seen when he started his day the next day. (I live 3 hours away from my parents, my sisters live with my parents.) I received a text from my sister saying the letters were finished m, inside the book & the book was set out for our dad. 2 days went by& I didn't hear anything about it, so I contacted my sister & asked if our dad got the book or if he looked inside. She informed me that our dad hasn't said anything about it but she was awake when he grabbed the book & she said she heard paper being rustled around (our letters) and she heard what she thought was our dad sniffling. I let another week go by without any mention of that book so I finally asked my dad "Dad, did you get the gift for me & the girls? The book?" To which he replied, "Yes I did. Thank you very much. I'm sorry I didn't say anything, but I just don't have the words for a gift like that." (And because people reading this don't know me, my dad, etc., I'd like to add that it's not normal for him to NOT immediately acknowledge something like a gift and say thank you or at least something, unless it's something that hits the emotions & tips the sentimental meter. My dad is never at a loss for words. This book, along with letters from his girls, left him speechless & I was informed that it was a gift that means more to him than anything....and I was also informed that it's a gift that can never be topped...so you can imagine how hard Christmas/bday/Father's Day shopping is gonna be from here on out!) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Always loved this book for my kids.. *by W***E on October 12, 2024* Bought for my granddaughter who is very close with her father as he is a stay at home Dad while Mom works.
