These are why people think vegan options are rubbish...
Vegan stuff gets a bad rep, so I’m usually fairly kind to vegan friendly protein products because at least they’re trying to give us more healthy and ethical options. That said, these are not very good. Not very good at all. It’s like eating sand it’s so dry. Also, did you think these would be crispy when you looked at the picture? Because I didn’t, and they are.Look for something else.

A good substantial protein snack
These arrived in a simple branded box that converts into a display/dispensing box, the bars are quite a substantial size and not the small finger sized snacks you often find with other protein bars.My first impressions were they are much larger than I expected and very easy to open, the box is simple but quite a nice design that matches the wrapper on the bars. I tried one myself, my wife tried one and my children shared one to give them a good test.Personally I am going to go against the flow and say I really like them, the chocolate is a very thin coating with the filling being soft and moist and small crunchy bits in every bite, they are not very sweet which I find ideal as I don’t have an overly sweet tooth, I would describe the taste and texture to an extent as a dry biscuit bar with a crunch to break it up. Neither of my children were very keen on them but I wasn’t surprised after I had tasted them and they didn’t have a sweet taste, my wife liked them but wasn’t as keen as myself on them and said she would have liked it to be a bit sweeter.Overall I really like these and find them a very nice and substantial snack, they are more of a dry snack and the look of a sweet chocolate treat does not match the taste, I find them ideal with a drink. My children weren’t very keen on them and I would say anyone looking for a chocolate sugar type boost will be disappointed but if you don’t have an overly sweet tooth and like a more biscuit taste I would say these would be ideal.

Almost as dry as a cracker!
This is a 12 pack of high pro time low sugar cookie dough snack bars. I do a lot of cycling so was looking forward to having these when I get back from a long ride. But the first bar I had I was taken aback by how dry they are! It took me ages to get through the bar, and I’d pretty much had enough by half way through. They are vegan bars so that’s good but they taste nothing like cookie dough. You’d think the vegan chocolate would give you some respite from the dryness but that’s not the case. I don’t know who sat down in the R&D department and thought these would make a great snack for someone who’s been exercising and already in need of moisture. I think SIS let the bar down with this one but they do offer other great products, unfortunately this is not one of them.

Too powdery.
I have mixed feelings about this bar. I have used other pea protein products before and they all have this certain powdery after taste and, on these bars, it was very, very noticeable.I find these to be really, really filling which is fantastic and the flavour itself is actually pretty decent. It does taste like cookie dough. However, that protein powder after taste is very, very prominent and what is a filling, tasty, vegan bar that is enjoyable to eat, turns into a nasty dry, powdery feeling on your mouth once you're done which I am not too keen on.I would say they're not bad at all and it does and it is what it says on the packaging but the powdery-ness is a bit too noticeable for my taste.

Not a nice taste
I thought these would be ideal as I am trying to put on a bit of weight and muscle whilst working out.The packaging of these protein vegan bars are good, comes in one larger box with all of the 12 bars in individual packaging which is nice to take one with you places if necessary. They have a very high content of protein being 20g per bar which is crazy good for building muscle.Although taste wise after struggling to eat one bar I have been reluctant to going back to them. It has a dry feel in your mouth leaves a nasty after taste.I like the fact this is a vegan product but that is probably the only thing I like about these bars.I wouldn't purchase for this price purely because I really didn't like the taste .Packaging looked appealing which was misleading, didn't have a good taste whatsoever. Cookie doe protein bars sounded super nice and tasty which this was not.I wouldn't recommend this just because of the taste although some could maybe like it just personally not for me one bit!

not bad at all
I'm pleasantly surprised by these. I am not a vegan but I was offered a chance to try these and I found they're not that bad. I was expecting cardboard tastelessness. But these were actually pleasant enough to enjoy. I could not distinguish the "chocolate" as being vegan, I mean it was so similar to regular chocolate I noticed no difference. The inside tasted alright. It lacked a bit of creaminess but the cookie and cream flavour was certainly recognisable. The cookie bits inside gave it the desire crunch and texture. The only negatives I found with these bars is that they leave my mouth quite dry. Also I am unsure if it is mind over matter but every now and then whilst eating them I get a scent of vegetables.I find they are very filling. Ideal for afternoon snacks to get me through until dinner time.I'm still working my way through the pack. I'm not gonna stop. I don't love them but they fill me up and certainly dela with my sweet tooth. I enjoy them plenty enough to keep having them.
