Handy, long-lasting
Update: We used many of these from 2 different boxes on camping trips this summer and had no issues with them. We have mountain spring water at home, so we're rather spoiled, but these tasted just fine. I wanted to mention that the package these things are in is quite sturdy. We had no breakage issues at all, even tho these were often tossed in with other camping items (no actual pokey things, but still ;)---------------------------Original review:3 boxes of these so far and not a one with any leaks or problems. We have them for both emergency and camping.I watched a youtube video of a woman giving birth in an Australian stream. While it was beautiful and all, I can't get over wondering if they had anyone downstream, which made me realize that animals prolly pee in streams all the time and... well, I'm just going to stick to my bags of water ;)

Sturdy and easily fits into the smallest space.
Just replenished all my original Datrex water pouches which show a packaged date of 2010. Every single pouch was in great shape and not one seal failure. I opened one pouchand pored it into a glass. Nice crystal clear appearance and no odor of any kind. I drank the whole glass full and it tasted quite good and refreshing. I’m not recommending you keep yours for 12 years but, I thought I’d share my experience since I had the pouches right in front of me. My new batch was In perfect condition when it arrived and not a single seal failure. My pouches mostly set in go bags which don’t get moved around much. I also keep some in a bag in the car. Very convenient size to put anywhere. These things are very sturdy and appear to be able to take a fair amount of abuse. Mark F.

Emergency Drinking Water for My Earthquake Kit
Water is water, it was time for me to replenish my earthquake kit. This is not my go to water supply but something to keep in my bug out bag and in my car. The plastic packaging seemed sturdy but I do keep these in ziploc bags just in case. I did open one of the packages to taste, the water had no specific taste just in case if you are wondering if the packaging affected the taste. Also on the packaging, the manufacture date was 10/2019 AD4, and the Expiration date was 10/2024.

Good item, great ability to fit in many different places.
This is pretty good tasting water. I have bought Datrex for a long time. The reason for this is you can fit them pretty much anywhere. Unlike water bottles this will lay flat, fit in small areas and stay stable for 5 years. I dont know if anyone reading this has had a water bottle for 5 years but they start getting funky after about 1. The bottle begins to take on a weird feel and the water begins to take on a plastic taste.Everyone should have a stash of these somewhere. They last for a long time and have a very stable life. They do have a very minor aftertaste but it is nothing that someone could not live with in a situation where these might be important

Survival kit
Good product. Great to have in you car for emergency kits; since this can be in hot and cold weather. I have replaced all my kits that contain bottle water.

Great as always
All arrived in tact. I've used these for years in emergency bags, on camping trips, and just stowed in the car. These are expensive for water, but you are paying for the protection and ability to store them anywhere, including a hot or freezing car, and be guaranteed fresh water when you really need it. Try storing a regular gallon of water in your car in the middle of winter in the midwest... good times. I recommend this brand and product to all of my camping and survival training friends.
