When I wear them on my wrist, they are a little higher than a watch. I'd say about 1/4 inch. **Q: Do they get caught in curly hair?** A: Well I don’t have curly hair but sometimes I have beach waves in and if you take it out gently, it won’t get caught. **Q: do these work well for thin or fine hair?** A: Yes these work well for thin/fine hair. They are small hair ties so you will have to wrap around your hair a few times. They are very stretchy but shrink back to size after each use. **Q: is this durable ?** A: Yes! Since I’ve had the package I’ve only had one break, but it was due to me stretching it out way to much.
