This is so clutch!
Amazing! I wish I knew about this sooner. We took this traveling and it is so much better than having to tote a full seat along for national travel. For international travel a seat would be miserable and this was the ticket! We pack lite and this folded up nice and small so we could take it out whenever we needed it. If you have to have the most crash resistant harness you can hook up all the add ons or go with a top end car seat, but if you want a safe, reliable and functional tool in your kid travel arsenal- this is it. Theyโll be plenty save and you will save yourself so many headaches over lugging around a traditional seat. I also Loved lived that this is a true US approved car seat and can act as a back up car seat if we are ever caught without one! So for all those time something happens or someone else is driving them, this can be the backup you throw in the trunk or keep in another car. It takes up almost no space when folded. Could easily slide under a standard driver or passenger seat.

Game changer for traveling with kids
This harness has been a total game changer when it comes to traveling with a little one. I love how I can fold it into my backpack (I donโt usually use the carrying bag it comes with, to help reduce the amount of space used). My family used this for a trip to Las Vegas and we were able to get our little one strapped in and out of the taxis in less than a minute! He was really comfortable in it, and itโs very securely made. It also made getting home from the airport via a rideshare really painless. Saved us so much time and money because we didnโt have to travel with a bulky car seat/didnโt have to worry about installing a car seat over & over again during our trip, and also we didnโt have to rent a car! Would highly recommend for anyone looking to travel with a little one and likes packing light!

The best invention
My oh my! This is it. The product i have desperately been looking for. Iโm a special needs mom of 2 and one of my kids is Houdini and could escape every car seat or find a way to wear it inappropriately. I was so stressed about being pulled over, getting into a wreck and him being severely injured. This seat belt literally saves his life. Itโs expensive but WORTH IT. You technically no longer need a car seat. This is the car seat. It stores in a small bag and easy for travel and can be used in any car. You use the seatbelt from the car to strap them in. You also have an anchor to hook to the back of the seat if you have one. He literally cannot get out. Try not to make it so tight they canโt move a single inch cause he was uncomfortable that way. So we lightly loosened it but not too much. We do put a booster under him for everyday use because it simply makes it feel bettter and safer and naturally he fits better into the seat. I do not believe itโs require for travel though. I no longer have to worry and moms who have this struggle whether theyโre special needs or not this is the perfect product for you! No more worry. To whoever created this product thank you so much.

Nice for travel
I was traveling by myself with two kids and didnโt want to have to lug around giant car seats. So I bought this on a last minute whim. It was great. So quick to put on and get buckled in. My six year old was able to buckle and unbuckle herself with it. (I always double checked her installation, of course!!) It was so nice when getting in a ride share that it didnโt take 20 minutes to install! And when we were traveling with grandparents, we were able to fit three across the backseat without anyone having to climb over and squeeze between giant car seats. This is rated for 3+ (if I recall correctly), but Iโm not sure I'd use it for someone so young. Even my six year old wanted to lie down in the back seat and it was hard to convince her to stay upright. There is a rear tether attachment we could have used, but I didnโt think it was necessary at first (the instructions say it is for if you donโt have a shoulder belt and all the seatbelts these days do). Looking back I think I would have started with it to encourage her to stay sitting upright. Also, it wasnโt totally clear from the description, but this does NOT come with the attachable head rest. I will probably buy that for the next trip, also for encouraging staying sitting up.

Great for travel with a toddler
We use this for trips when we fly and we have loved it . My son is 2 and we have used it for this whole year about 5 trips . I definitely wouldnโt suggest using any less than 2 though . Simply because it hard for naps and the child need to be able to stay seated for some time .

Quality control issues or sizing change?
I've purchased two Rider Safer Travel Vests in the past. One size Large, Model Number JD14201BLG, Manufactured September 2021. Another one was size Small, Model Number JD14101BLB, Manufactured September 2021. In December 2023, I purchased another Rider Safer Travel Vest, size Large, also Model Number JD14201BLG, Manufactured June 2023. However, the new Large vest has a rear waist pad that is two inches smaller than the Large vest manufactured in September 2021. Immediately on putting it on my son he complained that it was too tight. So, I'm not sure if there's a quality control issue or the sizing has change. But I'm going to find out. I'm ordering an X-Large. See the picture and you'll see that the new vest on top is clearly shorter by two inches. When the X-Large vest comes in, I'll up date this review. Aside for this current issue, we've never had an issue - any issue - with the two vests manufactured in 2021. I will say that the new vest did not come with a neck pillow. I'm not happy about that change but it's just $10 on the Rider Safer website. It would be nice if it was available for purchase at Amazon. But I couldn't find it. Update to review: I received the XL version of the Rider Safer Travel Vest. The current XL version has the same size back waist pad as the 2021 Large version. The XL version does actually fit my oldest son. He didn't immediately complain this time upon putting it on for the first time. The XL crotch strap is much much longer than on the Large version. My son is 7 years old and not particularly tall, probably average to just a bit shorter than average. I hope this helps you make a decision on which size to purchase for your child or children. All of my children are happy with their harnesses (travel vests). I definitely recommend this product. It's way better than travelling with a car seat when we go on vacation!

I should have bought one sooner
Wow, just wow! This is the best thing ever for travel or even just riding in a friend's car at home. After the first use and initial sizing adjustments, it is so easy to use. It takes under a minute to put it on your kid before they get in the car and then seconds to buckle them in using the car's 3-point seatbelt. It comes in a carrying bag that is also a little backpack. Maybe you will have more success getting your child to carry the backpack. I usually put the vest in my bag. My child loves the ride safer vest. He even likes to wear it around after we get out of a vehicle, because it's like wearing a snuggly hug. It's fun to "ride without his car seat" in a regular seat using the regular seatbelt. My short child can't see out the side windows, but if he sits in the middle he can see out the front windshield. Note that it is not FAA approved for use in an airline seat. Benefits of air travel with this: 1) no more worrying about checking your car seat and potential damages or delays in receiving it at your destination 2) no more lugging a giant car seat with you through the airport 3) no more renting unknown/gross car seats from rental car companies or requesting Uber/Lyft with aforementioned questionable car seats 4) no more installing/uninstalling your car seat repeatedly in taxis, shuttle buses, tour buses etc As a shorter woman, this thing looks so comfortable, and routes the seatbelt so well over the shoulder and chest, I kind of want one for myself.

Feeling Safe
I bought this for my toddler to use while traveling, and it was a game-changer! It made riding in Ubers and cabs so much easier. After adjusting the vest to fit him, I could quickly secure him in different transportation options. The vest ensured the seatbelt was properly positioned, providing a safe and comfortable ride.

Great Idea for Traveling
Make sure you get the right size for your child according to the measurements (in the picture). Car seats are a better and safer option, but when traveling sometimes it's hard to get one with you especially when it's not allowed on the plane with Saudia airlines.

Great safety item
This is so helpful for travel. You donโt have to take a bulky car seat. But itโs a little complicated the first time you use; watch how to use on YouTube. Itโs not for everyday use but great for travel.

Purchased, just in case
The vest was fitted to my child. It was purchased just in case his accessibility to his van became an issue.
