JC Toys 18504 La Newborn First Yawn 15-inch Real Boy Vinyl Doll , Blue

My granddaughter has been sighing over "reborn" baby dolls but the price tags are hefty! I found this doll and the Asian girl doll (on this same page) and bought both. They are even more adorable than in the pictures! These dolls are anatomically correct (the male doll is uncircumcised) and have all of the folds and creases that you'd see on a real, newborn baby. The entire doll is made of vinyl - no cloth body - so it's a sturdy doll and can handle being "loved" by a young child. The vinyl is not soft and squishy, though. It's fairly hard but the shape is such that it's easy to cuddle. All of the hair and features are painted on. The arms and legs and head can be turned. The eyes do not open and close. They do not eat or pee. These are simple, beautifully made dolls that are meant to be cuddled, dressed and undressed, dragged everywhere, slept with and played with by girls and boys alike. The dolls come with a terry cloth diaper that has velcro tabs for closure, an umbilicus band, a hospital wrist band, and a birth certificate. Interestingly, the Asian girl doll also came with a baby bottle but the boy doll did not. Some super small, Preemie size clothing fit well on these dolls. I also found some outfit sets made specifically for these dolls on Ebay that included a romper, T-shirt, another diaper, a diaper cover, a hat and booties at a very reasonable price. These dolls are very realistic looking and I discovered that they are often used by artists that "reborn" them. Reborning is a technique where dolls are carefully painted to have the natural skin colors of a real baby. They often add hand rooted hair, too. There are special paints called Genesis paints that are heat set to be extremely durable. While these dolls do have painted features, they do not have painted nail beds or mottled skin tone or blushing in the creases as the "reborn" babies do so I bought some Genesis paints to paint the nails and the lips a little deeper color and add blushing to the knees and elbows and creases. I'm no artist so I did not attempt all over skin tone, but it came out very well. I watched many of the videos on YouTube that show you exactly how to do it. Understand that these dolls are perfectly adorable just the way they come. I only added more hand painted detail because my granddaughter is almost 7 and has been longing for a reborn doll so I decided to attempt to make the dolls more like the ones she has been wanting. Otherwise, buy this doll and maybe a pack of preemie diapers and a couple of outfits and a receiving blanket and your child will be absolutely thrilled! UPDATE: I gave these dolls to my granddaughter for her birthday and she takes them everywhere! Even at her birthday party, everyone wanted to hold them. They look so real and their backs are curved like a real newborn so they nestle perfectly into the curve of your arm. Real preemie diapers fit perfectly. My granddaughter has bathed these babies several times - an activity she gets a kick out of. I think these are the best dolls I have ever purchased.

This is a nice quality, realistic boy doll that I bought for my 3 grandsons - ages 4, 6 & 8. I usually get them something new to play with when they visit, and when I came across him and he was so cute, I thought I’d give them something different besides dinosaurs and the usual fare and dolls are good for teaching empathy and encouraging caring for other babies. He is anatomically correct, and they laughed hysterically over that, they had so much fun for hours they bathed, powdered, diapered, dressed and swaddled, held and rocked him, gave him “magic bottles” (from Dollar General), burped him, pretended he was crying and comforted him. They had so much fun that they each wanted their own doll, so I ran out to buy 2 more similar dolls (my little guy cried because he didn't have his own baby to put in the bath!). I had purchased the doll with the intent to keep it at my house for when they visit, but I sent all of them home with them:). This is such a great toy for boys or girls, and would also be a great therapy doll for depression, anxiety, autism, elderly, Alzheimer’s, etc. Great for gifting or keeping!

Review for First Yawn doll: She's small but cute, Hudson Baby preemie clothes are a little big but fit well enough, and she can take a pacifier with about half the nipple cut off. I wrapped scotch tape around the stem a few times to bulk it up so it would stay in her mouth. She also came with a little hospital print blanket and a bottle. Edit for the First Tear doll: Four stars. Very cute, smells a little like baby powder when it says unscented so I'm not happy about that. Fits in preemie clothes on the smaller side.

The quality of this doll really surprised me. I didn't know what to expect, since we only had experience with an American Girl Bitty Baby, and I have never seen this brand in a store before. I must say that I was really surprised at the quality of this doll! It looks so real! It is heavy and does not feel cheap at all. I wasn't sure about it not having a soft body, but we love him! He is totally different than an AG Bitty baby being all vinyl, but really nice! His painted hair is textured, so it is realistic for an African American dol... not the unrealistic "straight" hair you often find. His diaper is really a nice quality terry cloth and velcros easily, even for a child to do. And he comes with a hospital bracelet, bottle, and birth certificate. The only thing I would note, is he is in a newborn, realistic pose, so his arms and legs are a little difficult to move... but really, that kind of makes him even more realistic. (As in his hands can get up in the way of feeding him a bottle, and his legs in the way of a diaper change, much like a real newborn.)

I love it is is just detailed enough. It is not as big as a newborn but it is a doll for kids so in my opinion it does not need to be the same size. It is very detailed with wrinkles like a newborn. It is anatomically correct which means that it is not blank down there. She is so so cute too. I almost feel like I am holding a newborn when I hold her. It is great and looks just enough like a real baby to seriously freak some people out when you are in public holding your child's doll and someone thinks its real and you sort of put it down or in your other hand. Though every time I look at her if I am tired I yawn which is pretty funny. Update: the only downside really is that the vinyl is pretty stiff. She's never been my daughter's favorite toy which is disappointing for me.

Ok, I had to comment on this doll. I definitely love it, very realistic and is anatomically correct. I was kind of concerned about one of the posts saying that you couldn't move his limps and I almost didn't buy it. But now that I have it, you can actually move the legs and arms (right on the crease), you CAN'T straighten his legs and arms (which I supposed that when I saw the pic), but you CAN move his extremities to change the doll's position. I am okay with that. I just didn't want to buy a doll that you could not move at all. Also, I was concerned about the "smell"... many posters were complaining about the lavender Scent, well, I have to clarify it is not that bad. It is just very slightly scent that it will go away and if it doesn't, (like I said) it is really very slightly smell. Size: Perfect for 2 - 5 year old. I have 2 girls (21 months old and a 4 year old) and the doll is the right size for them. Good buy for the price. Also Shipping and handling was SUPER FAST. Very pleased. Now that I have made sure it is a good buy, I will order the second one for my other girl: [...] that way they look different and two boys. So I will hide this one and wait till the second arrive :)

My daughter specifically asked for this doll for Christmas. It is so realistic it's unbelievable (though small). Because it's a newborn, it's legs are curled inward which can make it a bit difficult to position to dress, but as long as the clothes are stretchy cotton it works. I expected it to be anatomically correct from the description, but was surprised when I took it out and came across a white cotton strip wrapped around it's middle. I thought it was packaging, but when I removed it, I discovered it had a protruding bellybutton as if the cord had recently been cut. I even went back to read the description thinking maybe I had missed this detail, but it wasn't in there. Even so my daughter LOVES this doll! My only complaint was that since the doll is so small and a boy, I was unable to find doll clothes to fit it except old fashioned looking special order type (ie ugly and expensive). I usually just buy newborn or preemie sizes for her bigger dolls, but after having a friend's Mom make a few outfits for him, I finally discovered that micro or tiny preemie clothes fit the doll. The only problem is stores don't usually have them.

Habe schon mehrere davon und alle sind sehr hochwertig, für Kinder würde ich die Variante mit dem Stoffkörper empfehlen, die newborn sind eher was für Sammler. Fazit: Nur zu empfehlen, wer solche Puppen liebt.

My husband said he would buy me a doll for christmas. I am 50yrs old and was thrilled,, as soon as I saw him it was like being handed another son.I have never seen such a realistic doll. The detail in his face is astounding.My 9 yr old was very jealous. I have 4 sons and 1 daughter, but none were as well behaved!! For my birthday I am getting a girl Lanewborn and cant wait. The face is sooo lifelike it is spooky.I called him Jack because he came in a box. I would recommend him to anyone, even for a child, money permitting.Sturdy yet soft I wish I'd had him sooner.DEFINATELY WORTH THE MONEY.Arrived much sooner than expected and was well packaged.Happy me..

joli bébé qui représente vraiment bien un vrai bébé parfait pour son pirx qui reste correct par rapport aux autres poupées de la même gamme,ma fille a adoré son kdo surprise pour noel... on est impressionné par son réalisme et son poids !!!! elle reste petite donc parfait pour les petites mamans !!! j'ai réussi à lui mettre des petites chaussettes, un body taille naissance (un peu grand mais bon) et un bonnet de naissance !!! ma puce était ravie
