Seems to be the only game in town
I purchased this adapter to connect 2 ½" clear "spiral" dust collection tubing from a CNC machine to a Rigid brand shop vac with 2 ¼" attachments. The tubing fit very well over the adapter's large end, secured with a band clamp. The 2 ¼" end, however, was a loose fit into the shop vac, reaching full depth just before fully sealing around the perimeter. A one-layer wrap of electrical tape, however, produced a tight, secure fit in the shop vac. This is the reason I gave it four stars instead of five. I am pleased with the end result, though, and this was the only 2 ½-to-2 ¼ adapter I could find on Amazon. It saved me having to cob together something from bits and pieces. I would purchase this again for a similar need.

Powertec comes through again
My table saw came with an awkward sized dust port and as usual powertec has me taken care of as this adapter was a perfect fit to get my exhaust hose attached. powertec is 90 percent of my system and everything I bought from them is fantastic quality

HAVE YOUR HEAT GUN HANDY!
As others have noted, this is NOT true to its listed specs. It's obviously metric, which is based on nothing practical. Thanks to the reviews, I knew this before buying it and thanks to one reviewer in particular, I bought it anyway because I knew how to fix it. I used this on my Rigid shopvac so that I could use shopvac bags. The problem is, is was too small to fit snugly into my shopvac and too small for my 2.5" hose to plug into it. First, I used my heat gun to very quickly soften the plastic until I could get my vac hose inside of it. I let it cool a bit before removing the hose and that was one issue solved with a nice snug fit. I then mixed up some PC-7 two part epoxy and smeared it all around the small part of this adaptor, where it would make contact, and stuck it into my shopvac to dry, undisturbed, for 24hrs. Second issue solved! Now my shopvac bags fit onto the adaptor on the inside of my vac and my hose fits into it on the outside! Sure beats buying a new shop vac!

Fits my router table fence.
My router lift is in the wing of my table saw so occasionally I have to remove the fence for more capacity on the table saw. I use this as a quick connect for my router table fence and it works great. Fits nice and snug.

Dimensions are Off
Exactly the adapter I was looking for EXCEPT that most of the dimensions are off. On the 2-1/4 inch end, the as-found dimensions (OD and ID) are 1/64 larger than noted in the part description. Turns out this is OK for my application (exhaust port on a Dewalt planer DW735). On the 2-1/2 inch end, though, a problem. The OD dimension is right on at 2-30/64 inch. The ID, however, is 1/64 inch smaller (2-13/64 inch) than described. As a result, my Craftsman shop vac hose (2-7/32 inch OD) will not fit. About 20 minutes of sanding with a heavy grit took that 1/64 inch off, so it'll work for me.Ended up getting a better reducer from Rockler (Part #49887) that fit both ends perfectly. This Powertec piece would get 5 stars for construction and price if the dimensions were dead on. Take careful measurements (which I did) before buying and it still may not fit, so minus 3 stars.

POWERTECH 70141 2-1/2" To 2-1/4" Reducer
I purchased this POWERTECH 70141 2-1/2" To 2-1/4" Reducer to make up some vacuum lines for my DIY Dust Deputy, it has worked from the dust collection on my router table fence, the chip collection on my planner and other woodworking equipment- I use it with the Powertec grounded vacuum line I got in bulk for all my equipment in my cabinet shop- it and all fittings from Powertec have worked very well, Thanks to Amazon for the "one stop shopping" that I need from the backwoods (I'm 84 miles from any city that would carry the items I need to )keep up my ranch and shop (when I can get relief from my RA) to help my 78 yr. young mother with ALL the items we need

not sure what this will fit
I bought this in hopes of adapting from a table saw dust port to a 2-1/2" vacuum hose from a Ridgid vac. Neither end fits anywhere close to the hose diameters male or female.

Good for …?
As many others have noted, this is not made to spec. Instead, both ends are about 1/8" undersized so it fits nothing. It can be modified to work, but it would be really helpful if it were true to size so that it worked with many ports and connectors straight away.

Not for shop-vac systems
Putting together a dust collection system, I have lots of connectors, unions, ends, blast gates, this works for none of them. The small end fits inside typical 2.5 inch hose, but the big end is too small to fit over top. Check the amazon.com reviews they all say the same. Quality product, nonetheless. Sizing = not useful for what its advertised for. 1 star to balance out ratings.
