Remove the back of the fire - nine screws. Replace the two push-in type bulbs - size 18w Halogen Eco capsule fitting G9.

Could anyone tell me the depth of top mantel please in cm.

Hi, my husband just measured and the mantel is 24cm front to back, 110cm left to right and is 3cm thick. This is just the top layer of the mantel..hope this helps

Hi I too have dark oak reproduction furniture so would have preferred the fire surround to match. Fortunately, I have light oak laminated flooring so it matched well with that. The fire surround is laminated (probably MDF) and although very realistic, I think the laminate is synthetic and therefore would probably not take a stain finish. I wrote a detailed review late January / early February as for the money, I thought it an incredible bargain. It is very well made albeit from cheaper materials, looks great and heat output good also. I would recommend highly for the price Hope this helps. Mike
