Literary cotton candy but who's complaining? Sometimes fluff is fun,
I used to read Sidney Sheldon's books from time to time but then gave up the habit like one would give up junk food. Having recently come across The Other Side of Midnight by chance, I decided to read it again. It was no surprise to me that my memories of the plot, dialogue, and characters were still pretty sharp. It's easy--just imagine the most broadly written cliche' you can think of and you'll see everything that's coming from a mile away. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of this novel is "over the top". Especially the characters. One of the women isn't just beautiful, her beauty actually transcends beauty. There are no adjectives worthy of describing her face, her hair, her eyes, her body. She's not just smart, she is the most genius-level IQ person you've ever heard of. A gourmet cook with a Branson-level flair for business and finance and as gutsy a risk-taker as one can possibly be. The other woman is no slouch, either, and of course the man they both love is every woman's fantasy. Well, except for the is-he-or-isn't-he-a-killer part. Don't worry, that's not a spoiler. You learn that in the first few pages. Despite my seemingly contemptuous opinion of this book, I did thoroughly enjoy it. It's prosaism and you know it's prosaism before you get past the first chapter, but it's cringe-filled fun. It's like reading a trashy gossip magazine. You can almost hear your eyes begging you to go read Tolstoy, but you just can't help it. Perhaps you, like I, will gobble up every word and then immediately buy the sequel. I can't bring myself to give this novel 5 stars, but I will give it 4. I knew exactly what I was getting into when I was getting into it, and I can't blame Sidney Sheldon for using the phrase "male hardness" that many times in one book. This is exactly what I don't want to admit I love. If you also have a penchant for trashy novels, look no farther. You have achieved nirvana.

Absolutely mesmerizing
I found the book mesmerizing and riveting but I felt a haunting sadness while reading it. The story centers around the lives of an American woman Catherine, a French actress Noelle and other important players relevant to both. It explores many themes such as love, dedication, passion and betrayal.

The Other Side Of Midnight
Sidney Sheldon is a master story teller who captures you and holds you wondering what is going to happen next. Once I started on this story, it was difficult to stop. I thought I figured out how the story was going to end but was absolutely wrong. His description of Greece makes me want to go there to see the ancient lands of the gods and walk among the ruins. An excellent read.

Sydney Sheldon, absolutely love ❤️
Replacing all my Sydney Sheldon books to Hard Backs. Lost everything in a house fire and Sydney’s books were my favorite when I started reading as an adult. Yes, I was the child that never learned to read in school. My Ex started reading to me the Sydney Sheldon books and I would stay at home. He would go out and so I could finish a book with my ADHD. I had to know what was gonna happen and I had to know now, so yeah he’s an excellent author….

dark novel
its ok not to complex, just a scary story about human nature. It has a good ending, i found it a little tiresome and a bit depressing, but interesting enough to keep reading.

one of her best books
I got tired of Sheldon’s books because they all seemed to be written off the same outline, just different names, but this one was different and enjoyable to the end.

This is truly The Other Side of Midnight
The most intriguing novel that I have recently read! I had vaguely remembered hearing the name Sidney Sheldon and the name of this book from many years ago. Recently while on a chat with a friend she mentioned that it seems as though some people were raised on the “other side of midnight” and this comment is what lead me to purchase this book. Will surely be reading more of Mr. Sheldon’s books!

assolutamente avvincente
Parte in sordina per poi conquistare il lettore in maniera inesorabile. E' un libro forte e inaspettato. Eccellenti le descrizioni dei personaggi e della loro psicologia. Assolutamente consigliato.

Amazing, as Sidney Sheldon always is
I love Sidney Sheldons stile. Its gor People with a strong stomack and with no need for a happy ending. Or well an alternative happy ending? Its just amazing... I recommend it for all People above 16.. 😁
