I keep a bottle of this on hand for cheek bites, canker sores, and random gum irritation. Because it’s alcohol-free, it doesn't sting at all when you swish it. The 1.5% hydrogen peroxide fizzes up immediately to clean everything out and soothe the area, which speeds up healing big time. The mild mint flavor is a nice bonus—definitely a medicine cabinet essential.

This stuff works really well. I have been prone to canker sores my whole life and nothing has ever worked this well. Usually they last about 7-10 days even with constant saltwater rinses and avoiding acidic and sugary foods. It’s awful. I had two pop up and ordered this to try after reading something on Reddit. Two days of using it just after brushing my teeth morning and night and both sores are pretty much healed. It’s amazing. Didn’t burn too bad either. 5 stars.

I bought Colgate Peroxyl Antiseptic Mouthwash for my 13-year-old son, who deals with canker sores regularly, and I decided to try it myself as well since I get them every once in a while. If you’re someone who struggles with mouth sores, gum irritation, or any of those painful little spots that make eating and talking miserable, then you know how important it is to find something that actually helps without making things worse. What I like about Colgate Peroxyl is that it does more than just mask the pain — it actually cleans the area. As soon as you swish it around, you can feel the oxygenating bubbles working, and there’s this sense of cleanliness and soothing that kicks in right away. For my son, it seems to calm the soreness and reduce some of the irritation, especially during the first couple days when the sore is at its worst. It doesn’t magically heal them overnight, but it does make them feel less angry and raw. One thing I’ve noticed is that using it consistently, even just once or twice a day, seems to keep the mouth from getting as irritated overall. It feels like it prevents the sore from getting worse, which for us is a big win. It’s also great for general gum health, which is a nice bonus. Now, I have to be honest: the taste is rough. It’s not sweet or minty like normal mouthwash. It has a strong, almost medicinal peroxide flavor that neither of us enjoy. My son makes a face every single time. But the good news is the taste doesn’t linger too long, and the benefits outweigh that short moment of “ugh.” Also, if you have any open sores, there’s a bit of a sting at first, but it’s manageable — and it fades quickly once the bubbling action kicks in. Overall, I’m giving Colgate Peroxyl Antiseptic Mouthwash four stars. It definitely helps soothe and clean the area, and I notice a difference when we use it. If the taste were better and the sting a little lighter, it would easily be a five-star product. But for what it does — soothe, clean, and support healing — it’s something I highly recommend keeping on hand if canker sores are a recurring battle in your household.

I bought this because I seem to be getting a lot of canker sores, and also I seem to accidentally bite the inside of my mouth a lot. It only burned a tiny bit, and when it turned to foam, it kind of threw me, but it felt so much better after just one use. I am definitely going to be keeping this in my bathroom cabinet.

This is great for my gum cleaning. I am new to dental implant dentures. This is a great healthy way to clean my gums. Tastes great and I can hear the peroxide working. Not a daily use, once a week

I love this product. It stopped the ache right away on the very first use, and it does not burn. I purchase two bottles and the product was well worth it.

I purchased it and waited until the moment to use it came, up until the very first time I used it I was always a non-believer. But, after that, I suggest that anybody who`s contemplating this product, for the same reasons as mine, go ahead and get it, don`t worry about second-guessing any thoughts you might have. It`s not about a miracle, but it does take away any inconvenient sensation in your mouth, and, after using it three times, my mouth was healed. The inside of my mouth reacts badly to any kind of burning and it usually takes time to heal, but this product gave a good deal of comfort, at the first use. I am certainly getting another one today.
