My can opener at the camper was long overdue for an upgrade, and after trying this KitchenAid one I ended up buying a second so I could keep one at home too. It is easy to grip, turns smoothly, and opens cans without a lot of effort. The handles feel sturdy in your hand, and the cutting mechanism feels durable and well made rather than flimsy. I also like having the built-in bottle opener, especially at the camper where I appreciate anything that can serve more than one purpose. Very happy with the quality and performance. KitchenAid continues to be a brand I can count on for simple kitchen tools that just work.

Do you remember that first manual can opener you picked up at the thrift store when you were in college or maybe when you got your first apartment. I remember mine and it was a horrific little tool. I fought it every time I wanted to open a can, often resorting to a butter knife and hammer to open the stubborn can. Only when I could afford a non-thrift store / non garage sale can opener did I see the light. The KitchenAid Classic Multifunction Can Opener IS THE CATS MEOW when it comes to can openers. It’s easy to use, has a gripping cutting wheel that holds the top and bottom of the can seal, cuts cleanly without leaving any jagged surfaces behind its clean cuts, and holds on to the lid as you open your can, too. It’s safe to operate whether you are a kid or an adult and its compact size fits small or big hands. It also occupies very little space in your kitchen drawer or wherever you choose to store it; I keep mine hanging next to my spice rack for easy access. Like all kitchen aid products, this can opener is made from quality materials and it’s built to last. It may be the last can opener you ever buy. It will stand the test of time and keep on going. Price wise, it’s more expensive than the can opener you’ll get at a discount store but it’s worth every penny. It’s a great value for a modest investment. I’d not hesitate to buy it again.

Works perfect very functional, easy to use, very safe, great with cutting without sharp edges, attaches to can very nicely, great value for the money. Easy attachment to can, no sharp edges. Had a kitchen aid one prior to this and used it for 15 years, was about time for a new one and i’m just as happy with this product as my previous. Kitchen maid always makes a great product, adorable and highly recommend, also recommend for those who have difficulty with hand strength and grip, doesn’t require much strength at all, is very smooth and easy to use.

I want to preface this with my belief that you don't buy a new item if your current item can still be used and KitchenAid products generally last. I purchased the combo package of a grater with storage/measuring cup and a Manual Can Opener. First, the Grater: I may have purchased the grater this was to replace in the early to mid 1980's. Certainly no later than 1990! This grater, with the hard plastic collar and top handle seems like it will never collapse in on itself, as my old one finally did. It's slightly larger overall and, while space is always tight in a well used kitchen, it stores its own measuring cup/covered container, so I'll forgive it. The container, with it's own seal, is very handy as I no longer have to grate onto a paper towel and then transfer that to a measuring cup. I could say that it stops one from wasting cheese when you grate too much but the "extra" was always consumed by kids, dogs & hubby wandering by and pinching a bit here & there... well, not the dogs, everyone generously shared their snagged bits with them, woof woof 😜 😉 The Manual Can Opener: I am blown away by the ease of use and quality of this product. I have an opener that never caught the can edge properly, needed excessive pressure to hold the handles tightly together and usually needed repeated repositioning every time I needed to open a can! As my arthritis has worsened, I often needed someone else to help and watched THEM have the same issues. Anyway, when my grater collapsed, I saw the package with both and ordered it immediately. This opener is extremely easy to use, it doesn't open very wide but, I placed it on a can, gave a little squeeze and easily turned the handle just a couple of times before the lid dropped into the mandarin oranges! I was flabbergasted at the ease of use because I've been using the old one for several years, often got pinched and would just give up on trying to get a lid entirely off. We would pry the can open with something else until we could scoop out the contents. Luckily, we don't really open many cans and, until the mandarin oranges stopped having "pull tops" it was rare to NEED an opener. I'm not cheap, I AM frugal. I don't know where the old opener came from but, I know KitchenAid. For well over 35 years, I've owned a (refurbished) KitchenAid Mixer including many of the attachments and several other KitchenAid products. Every item with their name on it has provided years of service and they stand behind their products. This package was more expensive than most of the others and that's a consideration for some but I'm confident that I'll save money in the long run. Spend a couple of extra dollars now and you won't have to replace the items as often.

It lasted 2 years and 3 months before it broke. I used this to open cat food and it worked great until the plastic handle broke off the metal screw. I would give 4.5 stars because it a good weight and for the price, I got good use of it.

KitchenAid is always reliable. I think I ruined my last one because I kept putting in the dishwasher. The directions on this one said not suitable for the dishwasher. It was a great buy because it was less expensive than the stores I checked. Blade is sharp, easy to turn and opens cans easily.

A very sturdy and easy to use can opener. The handle is easy to grip and provides enough leverage to successfully latch onto the edge of the can. The handle is large enough to make it easy to turn. This is a great tool of older folks who don't have the dexterity or hand strength to deal with smaller can openers.

There is nothing like going back to the old tried and true can opener I used during my childhood instead of the electric can opener plus this one doesn't take up much cherished counter space. I bought an electric can opener but decided to send it back, even though it was less expensive than this one.
