Literally A Life Saver!
I adopted a 3 yr old Border Terrier mix several years ago, then learned very quickly he had an aggression towards Amazon, FedEx and UPS trucks, and most other dogs. He would get aggressive and start barking like crazy, pulling hard, running in front of, and around me, whenever he’d see those delivery trucks or come across other dogs on our walk around our apartment complex. Not long after those stressful experiences, I ordered a prong collar, but returned it because I felt it would hurt him. I then attempted to try a shock collar, but that also concerned me and I found it cumbersome so I returned it. I decided I’m just going to deal with his aggressive personality in those cases because otherwise he’s very good dog and a great companion. So after six years of stressful walking on eggshells and counting the seconds before his next ballistic outbreak, a few months ago was the last straw!! It was either something needs to be done immediately or I’m going to need to find him a new home. An Amazon truck came into the apartment complex and with his aggressiveness mentioned above, caused me to trip up a big stoop and go flying forward, falling face down on the ground! As soon as we got home, I was in tears thinking this is it. I have to find him a new home. After calming down I ended up searching ways to help with this type of aggression, and prong collars kept coming up. I searched different kinds and read so many reviews I finally ordered a Herm Sprenger prong collar. The one I ordered was way to difficult for this 72 old women with arthritis to put on and take off constantly, so I lost hope. I then came across this Herm Sprenger with quick release and it works great! Once I was able to get the size right by removing several prongs, this has been a life saver, literally, because I could be seriously hurt or worse with another fall! The first 2 times he had it on and started with the aggressiveness I pulled the collar and he yelped, but after that it’s amazing how now he just calmly looks at those delivery trucks and other dogs! I’ve never enjoyed our walks as much as I do now! By the way, I have been using for 2 months now, 3 times daily. My fur baby is a terrier mix and 18 pounds, of all muscle!! I got the 2.25 collar. Per another review, I do use his other leash with harness for safety just in case the prongs come lose/fall off but so far no issues at all! It allows me to keep the prong leash loose and more tension on the regular leash as needed unless I need to use the prong. TIP: Be sure to make sure the clasp is securely on. It seems very thin/light so you need to make sure it connects evenly or it could definitely release. That’s one reason to use a second leash with harness.

Great product and great customer service
We purchased this prong collar in July 2023. We have a large and energetic rescue dog who is fearful and often makes bad decisions when encountering distractions (strangers, golf carts, construction vehicles, bikes, etc). We had multiple trainers to help her learn to focus on us and listen to our commands. We also tried many different collars - chokers, martingales, e-collars for sound and vibration feedback, etc. We found the prong collars work best on her - they give her comfort she can feel at all times and they allow us to provide gentle corrections to help her stay calm and make better behavioral decisions. We use this prong collar all the time as it is our favorite. We like how the prongs go in different directions for easy and minimal corrections and we love the clasp. Our dog is a wiggler and is also head shy so she doesn't do well with slip-on collars. Unfortunately, the clasp on this one broke last weekend and we were devastated. We were a few months outside the warranty but reached out to the seller to see if they could maybe provide a replacement clasp at a lower cost than a complete new item. The seller promptly responded and was able to help us out. They expedited shipment and it arrived in a few days. We greatly appreciate their product and support and we can't thank them enough!

Herm Sprenger is the way to go
I finally got around to getting one of my dogs her own prong collar. She is not big and strong enough to take me off my feet but she does pull on the flat collar and then chokes and coughs. I was using the prong collar for the dog who is capable of pulling me down but it was a little too big for the puller. The prong collar acts as a self correction for the puller. If she puts a little pressure on the leash, she slows down right away and I do not have to correct myself. The collar I have used for a couple years on the big strong dog made the difference whether an older person could walk him. The Herm Sprenger collars are very durable stainless and the prongs have a rounded tip so they exert pressure but don't produce a hard dig into the skin. The quick release mechanism is made of very durable material and is easy to operate. I would recommend a quick release option if your hands are not strong enough to pinch a prong closed enough to open or close the collar. I ordered the Herm Sprenger safety strap and am very pleased with it as well. I ordered a pack of two safety straps from another manufacturer to give to a friend. I ended up throwing them out. They were flimsy and the clip would not open on one of them. You get what you pay for. The seller was prompt in filling the orders and both times received genuine Herm Sprenger products.

Overall a great collar....
I've tried a lot of version of the claw/pinch collar, and this is by far my favorite. I have two. One is for my 3YO Pitsky, and the husky in her wants to pull us around the world. She has been to obedience school and knows how to walk nicely, but sometimes she forgets because she takes her role as The Leader of The Mission very seriously. This collar (in small) reminds her that she can march ahead without constantly dragging us. Everyone in the family, even the 10YO, can walk her as long as she's got that little pinch to remind her not to pull. She hated the collar getting pulled over her head, and my Lyme-disease riddled joints can't handle squeezing and undoing the links every time, so I love, love, love the snap buckle. The collar is set up to loosen or tighten depending on the dog's actions, without every going into an actual choke position. The Leader doesn't care if she has to hang herself to proceed with The Mission, so we like that the collar doesn't give her the chance. My only complaint is that there is no good choice between the small/medium (which technically goes to 19") and the large, which is ENORMOUS. My 1YO pup is a Golden Retriever/Great Dane/Malinois mix. He is very tall and narrow, and well-mannered unless he sees a flock of turkeys or seagulls or.... His neck is probably 18 3/4 inches and I'm sure he's got some growing to do yet. He has the Golden coat (but black) and the small/medium version of this collar is just a little too small and tangles in his fur. The large size is HUGE on him. I would have to remove all of the extra links to make it fit, which kind of defeats the purpose of the claw collar. Since there is the clasp with leather on either side and the chain piece, there are fewer links than a normal claw collar anyhow, which is fine for us. I'll keep the large for when/if it fits him, but for now I stole a link from the the petite Pitsky's collar and that has helped the small fit both of them a little better. I wish there was an 18-23" 2.25 size, but otherwise this is a great collar.

Perfect Easy to use Prong Collar
You cannot go wrong with Herm Sprenger. I bought this for my 12 month old Sheepdog, because he really hated have a collar slipped over his head when first learning the prong collar. I always say you should do reading on leash training before using a prong collar! But, once you know what you're doing, these collars are wonderful tools. The clip makes it easy to remove, and to first place on a learning dog. Now, I rarely have to use the clip to place it on because he puts his head right through it, but I still love it for easily removing it without risking the prongs pulling on his shaggy hair. Highly recommend for long haired or course haired dogs. Before I bought this, I tried a similar collar from a large pet store, and there was a huge quality difference. These are stainless steel, so they do not rust. The other large chain store's collar got rusty after some of our walks in the rain (we live in a condo so we walk 2-3 times a day, rain or shine, so I need high quality collars that won't be damaged by bad weather). Other brands also didn't hold up as well after use. Herm Sprenger is worth spending a little more money on. Another very important feature is that the prongs are rounded so there is no risk of hurting your pet. They are there to place a little pressure or for quick correction, but should never hurt the pet. Cheaper brands are not always as safe to use. Overall love this collar and will always buy Herm Sprenger.

Highly recommend for dogs that aren’t good on leashes!
I was scared to use this as our vet was against using one so I waited. We had my dog wearing a gentle leader, which he hated, to the point that he ran his ears into the snow to try and get it off and ended up with an ear infection. I finally tried this and it is a game changer! He is so much easier to walk, and he’s happy!

The collar gets 4.5 stars Seller gets 5 out of 5!!!
I purchased one of these collars for my German Shepherd a few years ago and have always appreciated how easy it is to buckle and unbuckle. It’s simple, secure, and very user-friendly. In November, after adopting another dog who needed some help learning not to pull on walks, I ordered a second collar. Unfortunately, not long after we started using it, the collar began coming undone on its own—even when no one was touching it. By early February, it was happening two to four times a day, which was understandably frustrating. To make matters more stressful, the Amazon return window had closed less than a week earlier. I reached out directly to the seller, Derek’s Goods, explained the situation, and they immediately offered to replace the collar. A few days later, I followed up for tracking information and was told it had already been delivered—with a photo confirmation. Unfortunately, it had been delivered to the wrong address. As soon as I let them know, they quickly apologized and sent out another replacement after confirming my correct shipping address. Their communication was prompt, professional, and genuinely focused on making things right. While I did experience an issue with the second collar, Derek’s Goods truly went above and beyond to stand behind their product and ensure I was satisfied. For that, I’m giving the collar 4.5 out of 5 stars—and Derek’s Goods a full 5 out of 5 for customer service. I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase from them again

¡DECEPCIONADO!
No es un producto con etiquetado de Alemania y menos de la marca Sprenger, más bien parece una imitación. NO LO RECOMIENDO.

I ordered it and it came a bit worn down but still worked the same, it is easy to remove and add links and I recommend it.

Changed our dog and owner relationship.
Frankly, I'm too old for the strong dog that I have. I love him, I told myself, as I got up from the sidewalk and nursed my injuries. One kind passerby who is my age and apparently has a couple of strong dogs suggested to me that I get this sort of collar. She couldn't tell me the manufacturer's name but simply that is made in Germany. Through online research, I discovered the manufacturer. But fortunately, before I ordered one I discovered this Amazon seller who has modified it by adding a Quick Snap Buckle. The combination of the collar and the quick-snap buckle is truly amazing. This collar makes it so easy to walk my dog. He even enjoys the collar. And putting it on and taking it off is, forgive me, a snap! I think my dog and I can now look forward to many years together.

Doesn't clip properly
I have mixed reviews about this collar because it has changed my walks completely with my dog. He is 150 lbs, 1 year old part Cane Corso/ Presa Canario, before this collar he would drag us all the time and walks were very frustrating. We bought this the end of May and he is such a better boy, we have so much more control over him and can enjoy our walks now. Sadly the buckle doesn't always lock when you put the collar on, so you need to keep trying until it clicks in (sometimes this can take up to 5 or 6 times), It is very easy to think that the collar is secure so make sure to check before you take your pup outside, other than this issue it is a great collar. UPDATE the seller has offered me a full refund however because I do like the collar I requested a replacement instead, so they have shipped another. I am very happy and highly recommend this seller!
