Turtle Fur Original Fleece Neck Gaiter - The Turtle's Neck,

Great neck and nasal protection in cold weather, both on and off the slopes. I find myself using this everyday and makes me want to throw away my scarves because this is so much better, compact and efficient, dont know how ive gone so long without one. Thick soft fleece material that is well sized to were it gathers around the neck without being too bulky, and when you lift it to cover the nose and mouth it does so very well, staying up without slipping down for when you need more protection, and while its not very breathable when covering your nose, just keep it up long enough for your nose and lungs to warm up the air, then lower it again. Its quick and easy to just keep going back and forth lifting and lowering it as needed to survive the cold air in parts. I always need extra neck protection because I easily get sick when my neck is exposed to even the slightest breeze for more than a few minutes so this is such a relief to have reliable neck coverage without dealing with a sloppy scarf thats adding bulk but barely covering my neck properly. I especially like wearing this when im out running in the winter as I am sweating and breathing in the cold air so hard, I am more susceptible to getting sick, but now with this I can go longer and stronger in my light weight insulated running gear without being as affected as before and without having to wear a hot and bulky coat all over my body just to protect my neck. I machine washed it in a load on gentle and hang dried it and it came out fine. Ordered several of these for the family as christmas gifts (although unfortunately they arrived way late, even with prime) and now no one leaves home without it. Great winter essential and gift idea, just order well in advance because theyre often selling out in season.

When I first got this from Amazon I hated the way it felt. It felt like the kind of synthetic cotton that is stuffed into medication bottles the feel of which gives me creepy chills. But then I washed the two I bought and they softened and lost that objectionable synthetic feel. I haven't worn them yet because they are fairly tight to put on which dare I admit it messes my hair. But now that I have overcome the feel problem, I am anxious to use them. I know they need to be on the tight side in order to be effective in keeping you warm so I plan to stretch them as far as possible to get them over my head and around my neck. I hate any kind of draft or coldness on my neck and this neckwarmer feels very good on my neck. I love scarves but the downside with them is that you have to wrap them several times in order to create a tight wrap around your neck and there is a lot of extra bulk with the ends of the scarf. I travel by bus a lot and they are very overheated so my one concern is that this neckwarmer might be so warm inside the bus and then it's hard to get off when it's very crowded. Finally, I have worn the neckwarmer and it feels great and is really warm. I will probably buy a few more colors.

Fits well, I have a pretty average sized head and it's snug. Also warm enough, definitely not sweating, but it does the job against the wind I face daily. I deduct one star because I've worn the fleece maybe 4 times now, and each time I take it off it leaves a substantial amount of blue fuzz/material on my face. This is an issue, and I hope in time it stops, but I worry the fleece is just falling apart while I wear it.

I've been using one of these since I was a kid and they are awesome. They start a bit snug but stretch over time and in the end will be the perfect size for your neck. Three things that I love about these: 1. Right amount of fabric: I tired on Buffs but it was just too much material. If I didn't want my face covered and pushed it down on my neck I felt like I was in a neck brace. The turtle fur is just the right amount, enough that if you pull it up over your nose it still reaches down into your coat collar, but not so much that when pushed down you feel like your in a brace 2. Super soft 3. Breathablity: When its super cold I make a balaclava by first putting on my hat and then pulling the turtle fur over it so I only have a little slit for my eyes. They hat and turtle fur overlap behind my head. I breath right through the fur and it works great. Condensation does collect on the outside, but because its constantly being warmed by your breath its not a problem. I've had my current turtle fur for over 6 years and its still going. The fleece is getting a bit worn so it might be time for a new one but for the price I have no complaints. I just purchased one for my wife to walk the dog so she can stop using mine. I use this for hunting and it is essential when it gets below 30.

Perfect for outdoor winter activities. Face warm, neck warm, ears warm, temperatures freezing. At the same time this item is made of breathable, substantial material, not itchy wool. Very pleased with my purchase!

I don't know how many turtles were farmed for the making of this Turtle Fur item, but however hundreds it may have been, it was definitely worth it. I work outside and in the winter that means even with a good coat, my upper chest and neck really feels the wind and makes my whole body feel cold. A scarf was a high-maintenance solution, as it would always come unraveled with all the running around and manual labor I was doing. This turtle fur heavyweight neck warmer is perfect for keeping out the cold. The fleece does get a little pilly after a wash, but that's to be expected with any fleece, and the material still felt soft. The color stayed pretty solid after a washing as well, and did not fade. The sizing was a good fit and was easy to get on and off over the head, though it was a little tight over the head, it was pretty much a non-issue. It was so good at keeping me warm, sometimes I had to take it off if I was going to be inside for any amount of time. This also may not be the best option if you're looking to be stylish with your winter wear, but for utility, it can't be beat.

The attached photo shows the pilling and shedding of the surface of a Turtle Fur neck warmer that I wore about 8 times. As you can see, the fibers on the surface (which give it the unusually soft feel) have come loose and are forming something like lint on the surface of the fabric. When I take the neck warmer off, balls of the lint cling to my face. I am still using the neck warmer, which is soft and comfortable, but I am using my fingers to pull the clumps of fibers from the surface, so they are not itchy and do not come off on my clothing and face. Knowing what I now know, I would not have purchased this neck warmer. I also bought a similar neck warmer sold by Carhartt, which is the same size, but it is less expensive and the fabric does not shed like this; initially, it does not feel as luxurious, but in the long run, I prefer it.

I needed a breathable neck covering to keep me warm whilst Nordic Walking. I bought this because it was described as breathable and was on special offer. I have been pleased with my purchase, it keeps the wind off my neck and as described it is breathable. It has allowed me to be out walking on really chilly days and be comfortable. So pleased that I ordered another in a different colour. They wash well and dry overnight just being hung on a hanger near a radiator.

The last time I bought these was skiing in New Mexico. A really freezing winter -20 F. I now use it when I ride my ebike around near Victoria BC during fall and winter. Better than a scarf to keep your neck warm. Very soft material.
