This is an 8" Blade Mini Iraqi Operation Gripper Blocker Handle Khukuri. This kukri blade is exactly the same as the British Army Issue khukuri in Iraqi Operation with a custom size 8-inch blade and blocker and gripper handle. It is one of the best Khukuri with a heavy deep gripping handle that can be used for normal work. The Panjawala Khukuri is mostly used for heavy-duty use. The blade looks very similar to Panawala Angkhoal Khukuri but is heavier. The main reason why this model was introduced is that buyers wanted a heavy-duty Khukuri that they could use for both daily and rough purposes and was long-lasting as well. The blade of this Khukuri is made of the strongest spring steel and is processed for longer than any other Khukuri. The handle is made of white Sadhan wood. The shape is different and has a finger grip with a blocker. It is full tang running through it making it super strong which is about 4.5” long. The craftsmanship on this knife is amazing. Karda & Chakmak: These are small knives that come with the purchase of this Kukri. Karda is a small knife used for skinning animal hairs and Chakmak which has a blunt edge is used for sharpening the Kukri blade. *Specification of 8" Blade Mini Iraqi Operation Gripper Blocker Handle Khukuri: This is a handcrafted kukri therefore please note that each one might have slight variations in measurement. * Blade size & Type: 8 inch (20.32cm) Handmade and Unpolished blade. * Handle size: 4.5 Inches (11.43cm) full tang Gripper & Blocker handle Indian Rosewood. * Overall Length: 12.5 inches (31.75cm) from the tip of the blade to the pommel of the handle (Approx). * Upper Spine: 9mm. * Belly: 4.6cm. * Weight: 1.21 lbs (550 grams) Approx, Only Blade. * Scabbard: Cotton Covered in Buffalo Leather * Shipping weight: 2.20 lbs or 1 Kg * Origin: Hand forge at Ex-Army Khukuri House factory in Dharan, East Nepal. * Blade Hardness: spine: 22-25 RC, Belly: 45-46 RC, Edge: 58-60 RC, Steel

A Useful Knife Size !!
No need to repeat what other reviewer's said. Excellent Knife, 5 Star..........however, Vendors keep jumping the price's both up & down, I payed $39 shipped & $60 for a 10 inch. The 8 inch size allows this to be more useful . I bought the 10 incher because I love the handles, but be advised that these "Military"designs are not as wide as the older styles, they are much more sleek. I have a couple of larger Kukri that I purchased years ago at local gun shows....and other than use as a camping machete, or for brush clearing, their usefulness is limited due to their weight & length. The sheath is Traditional wood with streched dryed leather wrapping. It need's to be broken in, and just is what it is...Traditional. If you don't like it, you can alway's order a custom Kydex or Leather. What you see in the pic.....is not exactly what you may get....the blade profile on mine was not as wide.....and the tip was more tapered. No biggie, a little dif, but I like it.........also, your handle may not have the Lanyard Hole. Pros: Well Made/5 star..........Cons, none really. but you do have to stone the blade a little if you want it " Razor ".

All in all a good purchase. Given the chance
I can't say much about the shipping other than it was delivered on time and when they said it would. The blade itself, lovely in all of its imperfections. The one I acquired has a few rust spots, but I think that adds character. Plus it gives me a reason to dote on it a bit. That and it proves that the blade isn't a stainless POS. I should warn that the sheath did have a mildew smell when I got it. That is a simple fix though. Three-in-one oil and a couple of hours in front a fan has eliminated most of the smell. All in all a good purchase. Given the chance, I'd buy it again. I don't have any field tests to claim, as I live in the city. Not much to cut here. But I'm betting others can test this product in my place though. If you are thinking about buying it, do know that this not a tactical blade in any way shape or form. It's a tool, simple as that. In simple, think axe in knife form. And on that note, have a wonderful day.

It's ok if you are VERY good at sharpening and blade maintenance
Well... It's hard to say, but I like it and not. It came yesterday, delivery was good (DHL). Knife and sheath were pretty oily. After oil and excitement were cleaning away, I gave it a close look and that's what I see:balance is goodfits hand well enoughgood for choppingis NOT sharp (has problems with cutting paper...)blade is hand made (good)waves on the blade are not as deep as on the picture (even with photo lighting... ;-)blade has convex profile (love it)blade is ugly asymmetric (even for hand made)So, this is cosmetic impression and deep knowledge that I will have to spend hours to make this blade razor sharp and more or less (!) symmetric and well polished (for my $75). I know that you have to spend time with the new knife in order to make it My knife, but believe it or not I expected more from it.I hope the hardness of the cutting edge is around 60 and will give me enough challenge AND will hold convex good enough... otherwise it will get 2 stars for sure.Remember, It's a TOOL which can help to make fire, prepare food, clean the path and bring you joy of use and maintaining (not kidding)... Hope will like it more!

Solid knife
I use this knife for everything. The two knives that come in the sheath are very nice as well. One is for sharpening and the other is for small utility things. The kukri itself is incredibly well balanced and very nice steel. I cut down some pretty sizeable brush outside my house and the first few swings I thought I missed because it sliced straight through. The sheath is a little awkward to slide the knife into, but it's serviceable and gets better over time.

Best Survival Knife I've Ever Owned
This is the best knife Ive ever owned. I needed a survival knife that would last forever. This knife is thick, heavy, and sharp. Its looks amazing. I want a Bowie knife of this quality now and I hear this company makes custom blades.. This knife is the real deal. The price is amazing for the quality.. I could easily see this knife costing a couple hundred bucks.. They dont make commercial knives this strong and some of them cost 3x as much as this Kukri.. You got to see it in real life to understand.. This knife will outlast me by many years..Best knife Ive ever owned and probably seen as far as strength and durability that was still functional.. Its virtually indestructable..So many fake Kukris on the market that cost more than this Gurkha Kukri that are no where near the quality.. Not even close..

Nice
It looks great! It's not scapel sharp, but is sharp enough. There's a little rust spot around the palm oil and a couple of places on the right side of the spine. I can't see it but I can feel it with my fingers. A few seconds with a felt wheel on a grinder took it off or it would have taken a few minutes and some elbow grease. The sheath is well made although not as nicely form-fitting as a modern Kydex. The whole package is much lighter than I thought it would be so that's a plus for taking it out on some camping trips. It's stamped Nepal on the blade. There is no rust. The balance and feel is excellent.

So close to perfect!
This knife is awesome! Overall weight is 21.05oz, knife alone is just over a pound at 16.19oz. pretty sharp out of the box, but honing the blade with the chakmak(blunt blade) will make it razor. The Karda and chakmak are in my opinion a little too small, but they seem to be traditional size so that's just my preference. The sheath is nice but seems like it needs to be worked in. You have to memorize perfectly how to get it in. The grip is a little small for my hand, which isn't massive. Overall a great knife, though my preferences would be a slightly larger grip, dark wood, black leather sheath, and larger grip for Karda and chakmak.
