Fantastic & worth every penny
I ordered this for my soon to be 9 month old daughter. It shipped fast and arrived with simple instructions for assembly. It comes with an Alan wrench, and all you do is take out 2 screws, flip up the handle bar, and secure the 2 screws in another pre drilled hole. The walker itself is super sturdy, and is high quality. My 9 month old cannot stand up alone yet, so I let her grasp the handle bar (not correct term but that's just what I call it), while she happily stands & licks the handle bar. (It comes up to about her chin area). So this is a fairly large toy, that will definitely be used for years to come. There's a storage area in the front, so you can load it up with toys and let your little one push them around the room. Or in my case, your baby who's still sitting upright with some crawling, can play with whatever is inside the storage area while checking out the cool accessories on this wooden walker. There's gears that turn, beads, a car on a path that can be moved around and a few other things that grabs the baby's attention. My 4 year old and 7 year old immediately stuck their baby sister in the walkers storage area and pushed her around. So now Ruby is happy sitting in that compartment, and will probably take her time learning how to actually walk with this. My 4 year old already was sitting in it as well, with his older sister pulling him with a jump rope they had tied around it. This is one of those community toys. Where your entire household will use (abuse) it! This is a beautiful walker that is not an eye sore sitting in your front room. If you are thinking of buying one, splurge on this item, it's worth it. I need to add that the wheels on this walker are a type of rubber that's sandwiched by thin circular wood pieces. Very nice construction. Lastly, Hape Toys is a wonderful company. Read about their history and growth. They're an environmentally friendly business. I have several of their products/toys and I'm a satisfied customer. I'm happy with my purchase!

Awesome purchase!!
I cannot say enough good things about this walker. I was a little concerned based on a few less than stellar reviews. I intend for this to be a Christmas gift this year for my 7m old who is pulling up and needs something sturdy. Because of the few reviews stating wobbly wheels and parts that aren't wood, I (well, my husband) went ahead and assembled it just to check it out and make sure it was good to go so we didn't have any Christmas Eve surprises. Assembly was all of four screws - super easy. All of the parts and details are wood except for the piece of plexiglass covering the middle detail on the handle and the little gears on the side. The center part of the gears are wood, it is just the gears themselves that are plastic. Very durable plastic I might add and I personally think this was a good choice since it allows them to spin more easily than if they were made of wood. It rolls very smoothly and just like most others have reported, it seems to be very solid. Obviously, since it is still November, my daughter has yet to receive this toy so I cannot comment on the playability factor but I know it will draw her in as a walker at the very least. Since that is its intended purpose, that is good enough for me. I think she will enjoy the little doodads on the sides but I'm sure they won't be the major draw. All in all, I am extremely happy with this purchase and would definitely buy it again!

Colorful? Check. Cute? Check. Solid? Check. BUT...
...it does have a couple of small issues that I feel warrant a one star reduction. It is so stinkin' adorable, though, and we really do love it! (1) It is a bit difficult for my 11-month-old to steer. When he tries to make it turn, it sometimes tips over along with him. However, it is MUCH sturdier than the VTech Sit-to-Stand walker he initially had, and the Hape wheels are so much better on wood floors AND carpet. He started walking with it the first day we gave it to him. I was initially disappointed because it tipped over backwards the first time he fell backwards while pushing it. Now he tends to sit back and let go instead of falling backwards, so we've had no other backwards tipovers. (2) Some reviewers noted this being "all wood" while at least one other reviewer noted that the gears on the side of the walker are plastic. I was hoping for wooden gears, but as of July 2013, they are plastic. Everything else is wood, though, which makes it a nice and sturdy walker. (3) We have had this walker for almost one month and it is used often throughout the day. To date, the activities on the walker have not sparked any interest from my son. The thing he likes best is the orange circle on the back panel that can be turned to make beads tumble and make noise. The only problem is that you must turn the knob on the back of the walker and the beads are only visible from the front. At this point, he cannot turn the knob from behind while leaning in front to see the beads tumbling in the little clear drum. If the drum was clear on the back as well, he could see the beads tumbling as he sits behind the walker spinning the knob. Take a look at the front and back images provided by Hape to see what I mean. Overall, I am quite happy with this walker, even for the 71 dollar price tag. My son likes to put toys in and out of the wagon part and gets the biggest smile on his face when I ask him if he wants to "go-go-go", which means walker time! Despite frequent run-ins with the walls and baseboards, no red marks have been left behind! A very happy mom and 11-month-old :-)

Great quality walker
This is a great quality baby walker toy. I got it for my little guys 1st birthday because he still wasn’t walking yet & I thought this might help him out. He loves it! It’s so much fun. He loves putting stuff in the cart. It was super easy to put together, took me a few minutes with a grabby baby haha. I will say it is quite loud when it’s being pushed, I am often putting my baby to sleep and the other kids start playing with it & it’s just a big clunky and loud. It also is a bit pricey, for just being a walker cart. It is good quality but I think it could be offered at at least 25% less than what it costs.

perfect, sturdy walker for 8 month old
i bought this after having purchased the Hape block and roll walker. The block set walker is slightly smaller, definitely lighter, and shorter. The Hape Wonder Walker is much taller which is perfect for my very tall 8 month old, and it's much sturdier than any other wooden walker or plastic walker i've seen. It has not tipped back once since my baby has gotten it which deserves 10 stars alone. She loves to play with the different activities on the walker, and pushes it around with ease. Although the wheels are not adjustable in terms of speed, it doesn't seem to roll as fast as the other hape walkers and is perfect for her at 8 months walking on carpet. I can see this lasting for years to come, and can see her future sibling(s) using this as well. worth every penny!

Well made and sturdy
We had first gotten the VTech walker because it was so well reviewed. We hated everything about it--the sounds, the lights, the way it walked. We decided to go the opposite direction and chose this walker--it is silent, sturdy, has interactive toys that are in no way annoying, and made of wood. This is an excellent walker. It's on the heavier side, which is great for kiddos just getting the confidence to pull up and stand on their own. (Though we found as our kiddo got heavier we needed to put some books or other items in the front to weigh it down and made it even sturdier.) It's extremely well made, as to be expected with Hape products. It's a smooth walking experience for the kiddos too. This is the sort of walker you know will last through multiple children, at least. It's been run into corners and walls with not a ding. The kiddo has climbed into the front and stood up, and the walker did not topple over. All in all, can't recommend enough. Totally worth the price.

The best walker!
For my son's one-year birthday, we knew we wanted to get him a walker. He had been borrowing his playmate's Melissa and Doug walker and loved it. We researched and tested a bunch of walkers, including the Melissa and Doug one. We chose the Hape because it seemed well-made, really stable and doesn't tip over like many of the others do. We found that the Melissa and Doug walker also shared these characteristics and was a great value (approximately $40). However, the Hape walker seemed to be much more interactive and seemed to be one that our son could use even after he mastered walking. Our son loves the extra activities and likes to sit in the wagon part of the walker and be pushed around the house! I don't know how much longer he will be able to do that, since it is a relatively small wagon, but it is fun for now! As he gets older, I think he will continue to enjoy using it as a wagon and less as a walker. My only complaints are that the wheels squeak, which is really annoying, and I wish the front of the walker was either not painted red or that it would have some sort of a bumper on it so that when my son bumps the wall, I wouldn't have to worry about red scuff marks on the wall (my husband put felt strips on it as a bumper and so far that is working ok).

Simple, but Fun Walker
I got this for our, then, 8 month old when he first learning to pull himself up. This walker is so nice. It's sturdy, he can pull himself up on it without it tipping over. I like the big red balls on the handles, they are perfect for his little hands to grip. I do not like the few plastic pieces on it, but I will compromise with a few plastic pieces instead of the entire thing in plastic. I like that it's simple, no fancy buttons or batteries required and my son loves pushing it across the floor. He grabs the handle and goes one way, then turns around and takes it backwards. I don't like that it doesn't turn easily, or really at all, unless you pick it up and turn it yourself, but, again, my son still loves to play in and on it. We put his toys in the basket, to keep them in one place (since we have a very small house) and he knows where to find them and can pick them up and play with what he wants. He also loves to climb inside and stand holding onto the handles. The rubber on the wheels makes it nice to use on our wood floors. Obviously, as with any toy, supervision is required with this, because he can push it too fast and fall, but overall it's a great toy that we hope to have for a long time. (See pictures)

Really really worth the money
Amazing walker! My baby son is just turning 11 months old but has had this walker for the past month or two. First of all he just took as couple of steps with it and preferred to climb into the trolley part and have me push him around! In the last few weeks he has suddenly found his feet and is walking everywhere with it and he is so pleased with himself! Its a really sturdy walker. He pulls himself up on it and its never toppled over. The wheels are made of wood and a nice rubber and it doesn't slip or slide. The extra toys on it are great too. I am especially pleased that the paint is non toxic as my son really liked to chew the handle bar to begin with! Beautifully made. I would 100% recommend this.

ottimo prodotto
