Both my wife and I have found this pen refill works almost indefinitely when compared to other makes. We both prefer the blue ink for a couple of reasons. It stands out on puzzles which are almost always printed in black ink. And, when writing in bed you can write with the pen pointing up and it doesn't skip! When making copies, the blue ink confirms the original when copying in black only. I wish one could select a black or blue cartridge when ordering. I've replaced pens that have been lost, or destroyed with a lawnmower once.
