Mitakuye Oyasin
Years ago I heard a passage from this book. It stuck with me through all of the ups and downs. I decided to purchase it and was very grateful to find this book on Amazon. If you are trying to work with your mental, emotional and spiritual life I would recommend that you read this book. It helps you to stop thinking with only one side of the brain, but helps you to combine both sides. This gives you a perspective of truth and understanding. The author tells his journey and how he learned to incorporate both hemispheres and relinquish past hurt and pain. This is a beautiful book to own, to be read over and over again.

It is a good path, being human
We noticed it was a signed copy. Thank you. Ehanamani is always welcome in our house. I was born in South Dakota and lived in Bismarck-Mandan. I came to Colorado in 1964 and went to Metro State 70-76. Went to the end of the Black Road, on the Red Road now. Going to Oregon for the solar eclipse 2017. It is a good path, being human. Took art classes at CU-Denver. A lot of circles in the probability waves of the quantum sea.

A very worthwhile read.
Very thought provoking. Most of us desire to know where we came from and our connection to the grand scheme of things. This book proposes we ALL came from the same pot of soup and supports its theory by pointing out the similarities of the peoples around the world who did not even have any awareness that the others even existed. It also attempts to make connection between the conscience, subconcious, physical, and spiritual worlds.

A useful and thought provoking book.
As a psychologist working with many Lakota Sioux youth, I find this book very useful in helping patients reconnect with their heritage and their spirituality. The helping nature of this book with this clinical population is very real. I bought three copies of the book so that I can lend them to the Native youth I work with. Cultural sensitivity in treatment is essential to positive outcomes. Dr. Ross's work "Mitakeuye Oyasin:We Are All Related" helps bring these young people back to their roots and helps instill hope for a better future.

Little Known Gem
I'm refering of course to the small number of reviews in my assumption that this book might not be all that known. I really couldn't recommend this book highly enough. At first glimpse the cover looks a bit unappealing. I hate to say that, because I firmly believe we should never judge a book by it's cover. Sadly we all do. Thankfully beyond the cover lies a well of knowledge. I really love the author's style of writing, his honesty, his storytelling and his strange stories, including one about the "whipping kachina". I had heard of the kachina, but the whipping kachina he witnessed had me wondering...did the author really see these beings?! Another amazing story is the one where Dawson No Horses apparently drifted astrally through a building in display of all in attendance.I loved hearing about his discovery of his ancestral past, his partaking in the sacred pipe ceremonies and the healing ceremonies. One thing I love about the author is his ability to include relevant references to the things he discusses. Often I have found that authors talk about incredible things they have heard or read, without really citing where they originally heard them from. I found this with Zecharia Sitchin's books, to the point where I bought Stephanie Dalley's Myths from Mesopotamia (the original Sumerian texts he so often quotes and works with in his books) to get a clearer view of what was really in the original source material, and what was the authors own conclusions. Not so with Dr Ross's We Are All Related. He is a great believer in using citations. My copy of the book has my many pencil marks underlining paragraphs that I will research in greater depth later, or refer back to when writing my own books, because like I say, it is full of ideas and interesting nuances which keep one wondering. Some of the book slightly reminded me of David Icke's work, particularly Icke's Truth Vibrations, because We Are All Related, just like Truth Vibrations, in my view, seems to document one man's entry into the spiritual plethora of seemingly impossible experiences. This is what we want! This is what we need, and although written in the late eighties early nineties, is as relevant to us now as it was on the day it was written.
