THE OFFICIAL BOOK, FULLY ENDORSED BY QUEEN ELIZABETH II From Her Majesty’s trusted confidant and Dresser Angela Kelly LVO comes a lavishly designed book of never-before-seen photos of The Queen, Her wardrobe and Her jewels and features intimate anecdotes from Angela’s 25-year career working closely with Her Majesty. A truly unique keepsake and collectors’ item to be treasured. ‘For the nearly seven decades of her reign, Her Majesty The Queen has used clothing to create a powerful visual identity that transcends fashion and has made her perhaps the most readily identifiable person on the planet. Angela Kelly, building on the work of the great designers and milliners who have worked with Her Majesty through the years – including couturiers Sir Norman Hartnell, Sir Hardy Amies, and Ian Thomas, and milliners such as Simone Mirman and Freddy Fox – brings her own imagination to bear on an iconic ‘uniform’ that suggests continuity and tradition, and ensures that the wearer is always the most visible person in a room or a crowd.’ –Anna Wintour, Vogue When Angela Kelly and The Queen are together, laughter echoes through the corridors of Buckingham Palace. Angela has worked with The Queen and walked the corridors of the Royal Household for twenty-five years, initially as Her Majesty’s Senior Dresser and then latterly as Her Majesty’s Personal Advisor, Curator, Wardrobe and In-house Designer. As the first person in history to hold this title, she shares a uniquely close working relationship with The Queen. In The Other Side of the Coin , The Queen has personally given Angela her blessing to share their extraordinary bond with the world. Whether it’s preparing for a formal occasion or brightening Her Majesty’s day with a playful joke, Angela’s priority is to serve and support. Sharing never-before-seen photographs – many from Angela’s own private collection – and charming anecdotes of their time spent together, this revealing book provides memorable insights into what it’s like to work closely with The Queen, to curate her wardrobe and to discover a true and lasting connection along the way. ‘The book documents the unique working relationship between Her Majesty The Queen and the woman who has been her Personal Assistant and Senior Dresser for more than two decades: Angela Kelly. It gives a rare insight into the demands of the job of supporting the Monarch, and we gain privileged insight into a successful working relationship, characterized by humor, creativity, hard work, and a mutual commitment to service and duty. Angela is a talented and inspiring woman, who has captured the highlights of her long career with The Queen for us all to share.’ – Samantha Cohen, Assistant Private Secretary to The Queen (2011–2018) Review: A behind-the-scenes look at the humble Queen and her beautiful wardrobe - As an American, I have always loved Queen Elizabeth and thoroughly enjoyed this beautifully photographed and well-written book. Author Angela Kelly’s love for Queen Elizabeth and her dedication and honor to Her Majesty shine through each page. The interesting anecdotes deliver delightful insights into this humble queen who “always makes people feel comfortable and at ease.” Miss Kelly was born for her job since the Queen’s wardrobe is stunning. The attention to detail for each outfit is extraordinary. I was also touched to learn of Angela’s care for the Queen's comfort at all times. This book is a treasure in my collection. Thank you for your respectful approach to every single person you mentioned in the book. May God bless Angels Kelly and the Queen with many happy years. Review: fascinating - I love the British Royal Family even if I am from the ‘colonies’! As the author says in the book, she doesn’t dress the Queen, the Queen dresses herself but she designs all of the clothes the Queen wears and the book abounds in pictures. The Queen is dressed in bright colors because her people come out to see her and she would get lost in the crowd if she didn’t. You may have heard that someone breaks in the Queen’s shoes for her, well, it’s the author! They wear the same size so she makes the shoes comfortable for her boss! I loved this book!

Fun book, but with a strong "I love me" vibe
I enjoyed this book -- it's got good pictures, some amusing anecdotes, and generally provides low-stress, low-stakes reading material. It's complete fluff, but isn't that what we want to read sometimes? It's quite possibly enjoyed best in small doses, so perfect if you want to unwind with a hot drink and a book. I only have two quibbles with this book. First, it's got a strong "I love me! I'm important!" vibe. It's a tribute to herself. At heart, most of us probably think reasonably highly of ourselves; the difference is that we don't typically have the resources and platform to publish a book about it. Angela's initiative, instincts, and wonderful qualities all get a thorough airing. And second, the deference to Elizabeth is sometimes a bit cloying. Granted, Angela Kelly was never going to write a book griping about her boss, but she veers to the other extreme. That said, I enjoyed this book, and just rolled my eyes and flipped a page when it got to be a bit much.

Excellent Book!
Angela Kelly tells amazing stories of her time as the main dfessee/ designer/ Advisor for Queen of England. One gets a glimpse of the Queen being fun and approachable, humble kind.

Great pictures
Lots of dialog by the author. I would have liked more photos and comments by the Queen. Interesting how she picked designs and fabrics, and how the hats matched. Angela does comment on the other residences of the queen and how she wears her public dresses at these houses later on

An interesting view into a closed world
Having just finished watching the series, The Crown, this book caught my attention. What Angela Kelly says about the late Queen Elizabeth fleshes out her character a bit more to me. It is fascinating learning how detailed the whole wardrobe issue was. It must have been a massive job, but she seems to have done it cheerfully. It's a shame the royal family is upset about Kelly's books and the casual nature of some of the pictures in this one. Somehow, I think the late Queen's reputation will survive her hands in her pockets and her feet up on her fainting couch. Recommended

Excellent Book & Gift Idea
I bought this for my niece who is big into Queen Elizabeth everything!!! I bought 5 books from genre and she is so happy with everything! Such great prices and quality. I was nervous about choosing 'good' condition but it came with nearly no damage whatsoever! Only a tiny peel at the book cover. Still looks amazing. Thanks!!!

Unique and enjoyable
Ms. Kelly’s experience as The Queen’s dresser and personal assistant gave the reader a unique perspective into the complicated behind the scenes considerations when planning The Queen’s wardrobe. As a seamstress myself, I enjoyed reading about the materials used and detail in each clothing and millinery item and the coordination of them. I found Ms. Kelly’s sense of humor and her dedication to The Queen refreshing. The Queen always looks classy and well coordinated which is due in large part to the extensive research and thoughtful application of material and design overseen by Ms. Kelly. The photos were wonderful demonstrations of discussion points and added extensively to the book.
