Chipper - Makes chipping easy! [Sports]

Years ago, a buddy of mine had a similar club in his bag and I was always amazed at what he could do with it. When I took up the game again, I bought one of these to finally get the same benefits myself. I haven't been disappointed! Like any specialty club, it still takes some practice to understand it's limitations and your own stroke with it. I use it as a run-up club in place of my 7 iron and I also go to it whenever the shot makes me hesitant to grab a standard wedge. Placement is critical because you don't get the same amount of back-spin from this head as your wedge...it will roll a bit. But you're just about guaranteed to make good contact and that's a confidence booster. Finally, just last week, I was fooling around at the range and decided to see just how far I could hit this club. I was amazed that it was going 90-100 yds., perfectly straight with a gorgeous arc that was stopping the ball within 3 feet of it's drop point. Just add that to the long list of what this club can do.

Product is fine.....except....The notation of FOR MEN....FOR WOMEN....shift should be noted. I'm short and I had to pay extra to have 2 1/2 inches cut off, plus a new grip replaced.Finding a club repairman was not as convient and inexpensive, as I thought.

[...]The usga Rule 4-1 allows chipper style clubs so long as they have a round grip and as long as they don't have protruding aiming aides. Unfortunately, this club has an aiming aide on a flange.Great value for getting comfortable around the greens and also introducing new players to the game. I see a lot of user comments complaining about how hard it is to chip with their lob wedge. So, don't chip with your lob wedge! ;-) this club is 38 degrees of loft. That corresponds to an 8-iron. Practice with this club and then switch to your 8i immediately after hitting a good chip. You'll notice that this club is like an 8i with the top half cut off and a larger sole. But you will become far more proficient with chipping.

try it in my yard a couple of times did not like the way it feels.or hits it must be for beginners. I need to send it back when I get time.

I figured for $20 bucks I would give this club a shot, and now I dont know how I lived without it! I am still getting use to it as I only purchased it a couple weeks ago. But, it has bailed me out around the green multiple times. Ive also been experimenting with it from 20-30yards out and have had good results. Obviously a scratch golfer wont need a club like this, but since I normally shoot around 90-95 it has definitely helped me to become more consistent around the green.As far as quality, it seems pretty well built. Don't expect the quality to be amazing, remember its a pretty cheap club. But, for the price I would definitely recommend it.

Wife complained of a distinct lack of feel when using the club. She did not have any confidence that the ball would go in the direction she aimed it...will hold up final judgement till she uses it more.

First day out with the new club and I chipped in from about 15 yards out for eagle! It definitely takes some time getting used to though... I had a few shots that came up way short of where I wanted and a few that went way long but the potential to make some incredible chip shots is definitely there. If you struggle around the fringe or shallow rough at all I highly recommend this club for your approach/chip shot. It's an easy swing, puts it up and down and rolls right where you are aiming it. Get this club and then practice at the putting green for a couple hours and you will be no longer scared of those shorter chip shots.
