WEN 20 Birch Wood Biscuits for Woodworking, 100 Pack (JN122B)

As described. Work great for my Porter Cable joiner. Consistent thickness and quality. The imprinted pattern makes them easy to center. Forgiving.

I bought a prefab HD acacia butcher-block slab to make a washer/dryer work space. The W/D is 3" taller than the sink/quartz counter-top next to it, so to match it I needed to fab a 3" waterfall drop on the acacia. So I cut 3" off on a 45, flipped it to make a 90 (and heres where the biscuits come into play) cut both sides woth a biscuit joiner, straighten the edges with a straight-edge with a 4ft strip of 60gt sandpaper, then glued and clamped it. Turned out great.

These are standard compressed biscuits that fit just fine in the slots my porter cable machine makes. Normal expansion from wrong with tire bond 2 and 3. The pricing was very competitive which was good because I'm building cabinets and an using a lot. I bought 3 packages as you don't want to run out mid job.

Mostly works. Some biscuits are to small and lose int the biscuit slot and some to large and couldn't even be hammered in. . Only ran into 4 bad ones.

Biscuits seem to be consistent in size.

Compared to some of the No-Name biscuits I've bought over the years, these are super! I went for the Wen name and was not disappointed. They're solid (not coming apart like some) and have smooth, rounded edges making it easy to use when trying to align long seams with multiple biscuits. Highly recommended from this veteran woodworker/furniture builder!

I have been using biscuits on many of my woodworking projects for a few years now. And one of my issues with them has been - especially in cases where many biscuits are being used all at once to anchor the edges of a large piece (such as a back) around several sides of project - the glue applied to the biscuit begins to swell the biscuits before all of them can be all of them can be seated into their corresponding grooves. These biscuits from Wen provide a slightly rounded edge all around each biscuit to ease the entrance of the biscuit into the grooves cut into the wood pieces being joined. Plus they are more tightly compressed making them thinner than some other brands of biscuits ... and thus, again, making them initially easier to insert into their grooves before the moisture in the glue causes them to swell up to fill the space and lock to two pieces together.

Works awesome. I use it every day. Biscuit joinery for the win.
