Suffice to say these fairy tales pack a lot of meaning into their layers and are worthwhile of the telling and retelling. They should not be forgotten.What I want to share with potential buyers however is what a pleasant book this is. The book is not large but a small size that fits well in the hands. The pages are printed on paper stock with a pleasant texture and a wonderful smell. If you are a bibliophile then you appreciate the smell of good paper. This book has it. The dust cover holds up well to use and overall I am very pleased with this version of the book. I have a few others I have picked up at second hand sales but this one is my favorite to actually hold and read. Most pleasing experience.One caveat, the cover says "complete and unabridged." That is wrong. There is at least one politically incorrect fairy tale that has escaped inclusion here. There are other widely available reprints that do include "the miser in the bush" which is itself euphemistically entitled-- see the Barnes and Noble version and perhaps buy it instead if you want a "more complete" and "more unabridged" version for your library. Nevertheless, the small size and gilt edged paper of this volume makes it a wonderful gift perhaps for a younger reader. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not "complete and unabridged" *by A***I on Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2019* Funny, it says on the cover "complete and unabridged". Not so. Its missing snow white and rose red. One of my favorite Grimm fairy tales. I'm not sure why they'd forget any of the Grimm stories. But its not forgivable, especially if they claim to be "complete and unabridged".It's also missing the juniper tree.With that said, it's a nice book and arrived in good condition. But if you're looking for a complete collection of the Grimm fairy tales, this isn't the book you're looking for. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Little Gem *by N***A on Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2013* There's not much to say about the Grimm's Fairy Tales, you know them, you love them, they are classics. This gorgeous little volume is an amazing package for that. I gave a bunch of these as gifts to a Fairy Tale club, and I could not be happier about the quality. They are small books, and would be lovely as a gift for an older child.
