Works really well well
Happy with this purchase. Strong and can be painted as the material is like cloth

Old School, and they did the job.
My cute little mirror would not stay on the kitchen wall at my apt entrance. I'd tried a few types of adhesive and even resorted to velcro. Nothing worked until these "adhesive hangers" (my mom always used back in the 60s) popped into my head. I wiped a spot on the wall with alcohol first, then applied a little water to the adhesive side of one of these guys. (I waited a few minutes to let the moisture and adhesive marry.) Finally, i stuck the hanger on the wall. I waited for some time, a good day, before hanging my mirror. It hasn't fallen since and it's been a good month. (As a fail safe measure, i placed a single tack on either side of the mirror just in case it gives way, but so far so good.)

Used with Gorilla Glue to hang plates
I used these differently than intended to hang plates on my kitchen wall. I did not rely on the adhesive on these things, nor did I use a complete pair of hanger + eyelet for each plate. Instead, I used a dot of Gorilla Glue on the back of each plate near the top (but far enough away from the edge that it doesn't show when hanging), laid the fabric part of one hanger strip on the glue, and pressed it down firmly (eyelet hole toward the top of the plate). Only half of the hanger + eyelet pair was needed per plate, so I could hang two plates with one pair. When I used the hanger half on a plate, I just bent the hanger in to be flat, since I wouldn't be using that part. I left the Gorilla Glue to dry for 24 hours. All of my plates were saucer or luncheon sized, so I am not worried about the weight. I tested the glue bond, and it was very secure. I used brad nails with thin heads that fit through the eyelet/hanger holes to hang the plates on the wall. I put each nail into the wall at a slight upward angle, and slipped the eyelet/hanger hole over the nail - done! The plates are secure and I didn't have to use those ugly brass plate hangers on 15 plates. I didn't like that the adhesive was practically nonexistent, it seems very flimsy if I were relying on that instead of the Gorilla Glue and I would have been disappointed. For that reason, I'm removing a star. Otherwise, these worked exactly how I needed them to.

Didn't stick, immediately fell off
This has a water-activated adhesive. I tried with two different tabs to get it to adhere to the back of a small, lightweight wooden tray that has a pretty design but no hanging hook. The first one wouldn't stick at all, even though I waited an hour for the water to dry. The second one I left to dry overnight with a heavy book holding it down; even so, the next day it peeled right off, didn't adhere in the least. Absolutely worthless.

A disappointment
Ordered these for hanging some wood plaques my grandson designed and made for a project at church. We were very disappointed in this as they did not stick on well at all. Had to glue them on as the adhesive did not hold well. Otherwise, they served the intended purpose.

Strength
Was hanging an 8 X 10 & 10 X 16 pix. Each frame < 2#. Cleaned wall with alcohol & let dry. Wet both anchors & placed in correct wall position. Allowed to dry 4+ hrs. & hung both pix. Very pleased with ease of use & final results.

Nope
Bought these to attach to a big shell to hang on the wall. I followed the directions and they just peeled off. Did not work.
