Freewindo Dog Grooming Scissors Kit - Safety Round Tip, Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Scissors and Nail Clippers for Full Body Grooming

The Freewindo Dog Grooming Kit should be an essential part of a long coated dog owner's arsenal of grooming supplies! I was skeptical about the quality of these grooming tools; how could so much be offered for such a low price, right? Well, this company did it. The kit comes with: * Thinning shears. These are great for blending the fur nicely, especially important if you have no idea what you're doing (-like ME)! * Curved scissors, which I use to help get the right overall shape I want, * Straight scissors.... These are the smallest set of scissors in the kit, and are great for working around the face and paws. * Nail clippers. They work wonderfully. My Shih Tzu, Chewie, has black nails, making it impossible to see where the quick is. These clippers have a protective guard that you can use to help ensure that you don't trim off more nail than you want to. The clippers quickly cut the nail down, and Chewie did not seem bothered by it. (Note: Buy a small bag of cornstarch and pour some of it into a Ziploc baggie. If you accidentally clip your pups nail too short and there is bleeding, do NOT dab the blood off. The blood remaining where it is will help aid in coagulation. Instead, gently dip your pups paw into the cornstarch. Keep dipping until the bleeding has ended. Styptic pencils can be used, but they sting, so I think cornstarch is better.) The clippers have a safety lock on them to keep them closed and compact when you're finished using them. * Nail File, I used this to help smooth jagged edges after Chewie's nail trim. Took a little bit, but got the job done. * Comb. The comb is dual-sided. I use the wider teeth to work out any tangles that I can safely and painlessly remove, and I use the fine toothed side of the comb to remove loose fur and any debris that might remain. (You really should do this before a bath, otherwise your pup will be full of matts afterwards. If matting is bad, just cut the mats off carefully. Who cares. I'd rather my pup look like he got a bad haircut than have him hurt.) * The black leather case is compact and easily portable, with room to keep all these things in place. It zips all the way around, so you won't worry about losing anything. A velvet divider in the middle helps to keep the tools from clanking against each other, and all the tools have an elastic holder to keep them secured in place and separated. All of these tools are weighty in the hand, and feel very substantial. They seem to be very good quality. The scissors all have rounded safety tips, which was essential to me; I wouldn't have bought this kit if the scissors did not have that feature. These scissors ARE SHARP! Believe me, lol, I did not hurt my pup, but I snipped my own finger on accident when using the small scissors to trim the fur by his paw pads. If you feel that the scissors are not cutting, try re-positioning them in your hand, not cutting too much fur at once, or using the adjustable screw. If you try to cut the fur and the scissors only bend the fur and do not cut it, you need to use the adjustment screw to tighten the scissors tension. I don't find fault with this kit one bit, and in fact, I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to save money by grooming their dog at home. Take care of these tools by properly cleaning and storing them after each use, and they very well could be the only tools of their kind that you will ever need to purchase again.

I’ve never scissor groomed a dog before! But I suddenly became the owner of a Great Pyrenees after Christmas and his coat was in rough shape. I had to learn very quickly how to properly groom such a long haired dog! These tools were perfect to get me started off on the right foot. Clippers handle toe nails easily and quickly without causing cracking which I appreciate. The guard is in the perfect position where you don’t chop off too much length. The only thing I don’t like about the clippers is the piece that keeps the clippers closed when not in use is a little floppy. So while I’m clipping nails I have to repeatedly adjust it so I can open the clippers at a full open position. That gets annoying. The scissors are awesome. They quickly cut through his fur and make it easy to safety cut any mats out. The comb is perfect for getting through his dense coat and checking for little mats in his fur that I’ve missed. Haven’t used the file very much on the dogs but it works on my nails just fine. Overall love the set. Perfect for a beginner or a pro on a budget.

NIce grooming kit, this is my first attempt with my Shih Tzu and these grooming scissors in 3 different styles are amazing. I love the curved scissor it helps veer away from the face. I am still practicing very slowly as I'm new to this and watching a lot of youtube videos on the proper way to groom with these. The price was great for the amount of grooming items you receive. Well worth the money and I have everything I need. A curved longer scissor, a smaller one, a file, comb, nail clippers with safety, and a specialty scissor that thins out the fur and leaves a nice soft look to it, sorry I don't know what they are called. There is also a little piece of soft sueded fabric to wipe them clean after each use. Plastic covers for each pair of scissors ( You get 3 different types) Great value, really.

I bought this grooming kit as a gift. I only wish that you would specialize for teacup-toy-small pet clippers too. All the accessories are amazing in quality...just simply cannot use the giant clippers on a yorkie puppy....or even when fully grown!! Lol

I'm impressed! This dog grooming kit was everything that was described and more. The quality of the scissors is great and certainly a real value considering the cost of the kit. I've used each of them except the thinning shears and they work very well. The scissors even have the ability to tighten a screw so that they can be adjusted if needed to keep cutting well. My little Cavalier King Charles spaniel is skittish about grooming, so I appreciate that the scissors have a little rubber tip that keeps them from making noise with each snip - that helps! The nail clipper seems to work also, but I'm having more difficulty getting my girl to sit still for that one. Being able to neatly keep all the grooming supplies together in the case is also wonderful. I'm thrilled that I came across this and highly recommend it to anyone needing pet grooming supplies.

The curved scissors are very sharp and have stayed sharp for a long time.
