This is the only lead which has worked with my little Romanian Houdini. He was able to just shake his head with any other lead and it would just come off. This lead also has another “safety” clip which you clip on the d-ring on his normal dog collar, which gives you that extra safety. I found the Halti types weird, as you attached the lead to a D-Ring underneath of your dogs mouth, which didn’t feel natural to me. He is, or used to be quite reactive on street walks and would try to jump up at people, growling, doing his thing, but this has luckily helped enormously, as it gets tighter around his mouth the more he jumps up, which then makes it almost impossible for him to snap at someone, and possibly hurting anyone. This was obviously always our concern, but it sits quite lose as much as you want it to be in any of the desired calm state of your dogs mind, and to make it comfortable for your dog to wear it. It has really been a godsend because it’s as good and useful as him wearing a muzzle, which we really tried to avoid, as he really hates them and I really didn’t want people to immediately be judgemental. I can honestly recommend this to anyone who struggles with their dogs on street walks, we’ve had it for quite some time now and it’s still going strong. The only negative I can say, is, that it’s sometimes a bit difficult to put it on the right way, as ours is a right hand one, you obviously have to put it on that way, which can be a bit confusing sometimes. And also, it’s quite short as a lead, so we usually attach a Flexi lead to it. But apart from that, I’d give it 10 out of 10 stars.

OMG!!! Brilliant !!! I've only had this one day and can't believe how good it is. I should have probably waited a few weeks before giving my views after a decent trial but am too excited to have found something that FINALLY works for my dog. I have a very boisterous 13 month old Husky and have struggled to keep control of him on walks as he is so strong. I have tried every method and tip I could find to stop him pulling but nothing would work. I have tried basically every collar going, here are my experiences of a few.... Halti - pulled like a maniac and struggled until it came off ..... Canny collar - a better fit than the Halti but still pulled like a train ..... K9 Harness - pointless and totally irrelevant for what I wanted ( my own stupid fault, the product quality is excellent in itself but will be better suited to when he walks without pulling ).... Cesar Milan Illusion collar - he didn't stop pulling on this and I felt cruel for putting him in something that looks so daft..... Anyway, after searching the internet once again for another miracle product I came across the Gencon, I read good reviews on it and decided I might aswell try another... It arrived yesterday, I unpacked it and my dog ran away howling ( probably laughing at me ) after some gentle persuasion I managed to fit it and off we went.... Almost immediately I could see a difference, he tried to pull but stopped straight away, he continued trying and again stopped straight away each time. After 5 minutes he was walking on a loose lead which has NEVER EVER happened before! I couldn't believe it and hoped it weren't a one off so I tried it again in the evening and it was just the same. I can't express how happy I am to have found something that finally works for us. Just to be able to walk down the street holding him with one hand is such a relief. Obviously it may not be the same for every dog but it is definitely one to try if you can't stop the pulling!!

Works great whilst walking but I've got through a couple as my dog is v good at chewing through it when standing still if I don't keep an eye on her

This is brilliant. My two Boxers use Dogmatics (which are also great) but my youngster was having trouble accepting it so I tried the Gencon. There's less of it than the other headcollar, but its design means that it also doesn't ride up on the eyes. Very easy to use and seems almost impossible for them to back out of as it tightens as they move backwards as well as forwards. The clip to collar is great for added reassurance (as in high traffic areas etc.) Highly recommend and so glad I've found it! *EDIT* I have now bought the reflective version (as well as my original black ones my original review was about) as added safety when walking in dark winter evenings and it is excellent. It's a little wider than the standard one, but just as soft in the hand. The reflective strip runs along one edge of the lead and is wide enough to show up easily in car headlights. My video doesn't do it justice as my phone's camera tried to be clever and adjusted the exposure.

Wish I'd bought this two years ago. My dog is unpredictable so will sometimes lunge at people,bikes, cars, other dogs, he was quite difficult to handle when he started. Although he'd improved a lot he still did it. I bought this harness on recommendation of my dog trainer, it's brilliant. He can't bark as loudly so can hear me above his "red mist" and he behaves much much better. He is known for being difficult in our walking group but today we had lots of compliments about his behaviour, and no meltdowns..it's like he knows there's no point! Very happy customer here Only fault is id like the option of a longer lead, it's a tad too short for us.

This product is nothing short of absolute miracle. A week ago we were at our wits end with our 40kg testosterone driven young Labrador. It became a challenge to take it anywhere and we would come back exhausted from the constant pulling in all directions - so much so that it became unpleasant to go for a walk. I have tried several products that the dog either wriggled out of or just didnt stop the pulling without making it so unpleasant for us or the dog -that we gave up. We met a fellow walker who saw our plight and came up to us and recommeded this product. In desperation i bought it- its absolutely amazing! Literally 2 days after receiving this- my dog walks perfectly to heel and i have had several remarks about our well trained it is! Its unreal and i dont understand how it made such a difference - almost immediately. Its easy to put on- but you do need to make sure the lead is not twisted anywhere when you put it on. Apart from that its a breeze. As soon as the dog stops pulling the tension relaxes- even for a relatively simple labrador - they get the signal to stop pulling immediately!

Not what I hoped. It’s thin, small clips. Not for big dogs. No padding for the nose or hand. I have a large Labrador he just pulls it off over his head. It’s not safe to use. It’s also not a quick put on when you need it.

This is recommended by my dog trainer and if you’ve got a dog that pulls this lead works wonders - they may not like it at first but soon get used to it and it doesn’t hurt their eyes or muzzle - I’ve got a staff X ridgeback and as I’m 74 I couldn’t hold him on a normal collar and lead or harness - he’s walks a dream on this lead

This product took our walks from total frustration to hard to believe calm. Our Aussidoodle (not quite age 2), was a reactive puller and screamer at other dogs. This instantly stopped both. He still tries to rub off the lead around his face by pushing his nose between my knees at times. But walking with this on is always loose leash and he Stayed right by my side. Assume it’s more tolerating than enjoyable for him but can’t walk him without this. Highly recommend, it truly stops the pulling. Less one star because it remains Awkward to put on each time, have to futs with it and think hard to make it go on right but worth it.
