In real use, this gate does exactly what it’s supposed to do—adults can open it easily, but little hands can’t. For some reason The Mama does not think I need to be upstairs where there's tons of stuff for me to get into. I have no idea what she's so worried about. I just like to explore everything with my teeth. The Mama bought this gate as a solution to keep me on the main floor where everybody can see me unless they go upstairs with me. Well I'm here to tell you this gate is dumb. It works exactly like she wanted it to and keeps me from going upstairs with all my people. Clearly they worked because it fits beautifully and I'm STUCK outside of it. **Q: Is the height of the door 27” or more (including arc)?**
A: The Summer Extra Wide Décor Safety Baby gate arched door is 27 inches tall and the extensions are 25 inches tall.

**Q: does this product work at stair top 45inches wide?**
A: Yes, as long as there is at least 3" of wall on each side of the stair to mount the support brackets onto. It will probably take 2 of the 3 provided extensions for a 45" wide opening.

**Q: Can this be installed against a banister and wall or is there too much tension for a banister?**
A: Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend using it against a banister, especially if it is being used for safety purposes. We used it between a banister and wall strictly to keep a puppy from going upstairs and it worked well until we got her trained. The downside was that in order to get enough tension for a strong hold, it ended up denting the sheetrock.

**Q: Does the slate one need to be lifted to close? The bronze you have to lift the gate and Line it up to close**

I absolutely love this baby gate. I have two toddlers, and having the peace of mind knowing they can’t easily access the stairs is everything.
