I am very pleased with the way that this diffuses the flash for Macro (Micro) photography--very simple and easy to use, and gets great results! I really like it, for getting great soft lighting that looks quite natural and beautiful.This did not fit the 62mm threaded UV filter (65mm outside diameter) that I keep on the front of my Nikkor (Nikon) 200mm Micro ED lens--too small for the diffuser to grip it. It works fine on the barrel/focus ring of the lens, which is 76mm (or 3" OD.) And to angle it forward (which I prefer,) works well--to have the front of the opening of the diffuser grabbing the top of the UV filter, and the back of the opening grabbing the focus ring. The trouble with having it gripping the focus ring, (which is the majority of the front end of the lens,) is that the diffuser rotates with the focus ring, and has to be adjusted back to where it belongs. When it is angled forward, it doesn't take much force to keep it from rotating with the focus ring, but is a hassle. The filter on my lens doesn't rotate or move with focusing, (when I manually rotate the focus ring.) My solution was to put a little piece of adhesive-backed velcro at the top of the opening of the diffuser, and the other part of the velcro threaded into the UV filter, (I left the wax paper adhesive backing on it, and caught the overhanging wax paper into the filter threads.) That way it is easy to remove the diffuser when I don't want to use it, and it holds the diffuser from rotating as I manually focus.BTW, on my Tokina 100mm ATX Pro macro lens, this fits fine on the focus ring, (75mm, and with the same rotation problem, and being back from the front of the lens as I do a close-focus,) but doesn't fit on the front of the lens, which is 65mm OD, (55mm filter threads... nor the extended barrel, which is 58mm.) To use this diffuser on my Tokina, I would use step-up rings, and maybe a 72mm UV filter for the diffuser to have a level surface to grab onto.

Nice little diffuser. Worked great, BUT i gave it 3 stars because it barely fit on my Tamron 90mm macro lens with a 79mm barrel diameter. The lens opening on the diffuser is about 70mm and is not stretchy enough. To fold it up twist into a figure-8 and push together; you'll need to continue twisting as you do. Handy carry pouch. I'd definitely like it for a smaller lens.

I wasn't sure if you could insert a lens through the hole, because my Diffuser came with NO instructions ? I use to just wave it in front of the flash especially when using the built-in flash on my camera, or when using smaller flash units, while trying to avoid hot spots.The pictures did come out a little better depending on the subject, but sometimes for Macro Photography you actually want that hard light to brings out all the fine details. For things such as flowers, this might come in handy though, but so can a plain old handkerchief placed over the flash head.For the price, I wasn't expecting much, so this is an added tool in my bag that might be of use in the future. Next time I use it, I will try to stick the lens through the hole to see how that works, then I might change my rating.

I use this on my laowa 100mm f2.8 2x ultra macro lens and my canon EF-S 60mm 2.8 lens.Its doesn't fit the lens exactly right and likes to move but I hold it so it covers the flash with one finger as I take macro pictures. For the price I can't complain it does the job and I'm happy.

Just doesn't stay up in front of the flash and it's a pain to put on.

If you want to take some nice macro images this is a good diffuser for you. The price is right and the product is what it says it is along with being very affordable. I like it.

This product is great especially for macro photography, it works as intended and is really handy. The only problem is when first inspecting the product the cloth material it is made out of looks like it was not sewn or has started to get a small tear in it where it holds the flexible metal to hold its shape, before even using it for the first time. I have used it about 20 - 30 times now and it's still holding up it's just I know that the small tear is going to make it break sooner than I expected. Probably just my product, but I thought I'll leave a review.

Hole is way too large for my mft 30mm macro lens. Still useful but not so convenient! Would be fine for full size or crop sensor lens.

This is not the best diffuser in the world, but probably the lightest of those that really work. It is definitely the one you'll have when you need it. I use it for on the go occasional macro and it really does make the difference.

Value for Money

This diffuser works great for Macro flash photography. I like that by placing the diffuser close to the subject (instead of close to the flash) you get an even light distribution, and allows some ambient light as well. It works great on my 100mm macro lens on my DSLR, but unfortunately, the hole in the diffuser bis too large for my 60mm lens on my mirrorless camera. It's a manual focus, so I've still been able to hand hold it in position, while I focus the lens.You may need to adjust where you put the diffuser so it does not rotate when you focus.
