A Very Sturdy Desk!
The desk is quite steady. It's large. Keyboard tray is close to 32 inches in length by 13 inches in width. That's plenty of room for your keyboard and mouse; in fact, I would say that it would have room for an ergonomic keyboard, which is what I use.The keyboard tray is steady, and for me, it allows me to have desk space at the front for my papers and textbooks. That's why I got the desk in the first place. If you do use the keyboard tray, bear in mind that you will have to extend the tray all the way, as you will be unable to use your keyboard and mouse with the tray partially extended. With the keyboard tray extended all the way, in terms of depth, you will need to allow yourself five (5) feet or more if you use the desk, the tray, and an office chair combined.A word of advice to those assembling the furniture: you'll have to pay close attention to the instructions, looking at them twice, three times, or more, before assembling the pieces together. Some of the parts will look symmetrical; this is where you have to compare pieces against the pieces shown in the instructions.Oh, and if you've finished assembling the desk, I would recommend asking a friend or family member to help you move it around. Believe me, the desk is quite heavy, and even if you could lift it, it's very unwieldy to move around, especially if the keyboard tray is attached. The instructions are clear and pretty easy to comprehend, and all parts are labled clearly, which is a very big help. Oh, and did I mention how sturdy the desk is? That's because the personnel who designed the desk had not skimped on the engineering; a combination of camlocks, cambolts, well-designed hinges, and wooden pegs held together by wood glue reinforce every angle of the cart. As a result, the whole desk feels rock solid; as would any article of furniture manufactured by Coaster. Because glue is involved in the assembly, read the instructions thoroughly, and do a test assembly to make sure that it corresponds to the instructions! If you get this desk, I would recommend getting the Coaster Peel computer cart. Now this may sound too much like a parroted marketing gimmick for Coaster, but hear me out: based on personal experience, I can tell you that the Coaster Peel computer cart does more than just complement the desk from an aesthetic standpoint: it allows you to situation your computer, your printer, and your computer accessories in another piece of furniture; thereby allowing yourself more desk space. Desk space will eventually become quite valuable to you when you need the surface for textbooks or papers when you work on the computer consulting them.

Not Your Best Option
Finally received the replacement computer desk-black the other week. Assembled last week. Trim on the keyboard shelf broke and fortunately still had the trim piece from the original shipment to use as back up. Assembly went well after that. FEDEX never contacted me for pickup which leads me to believe they denied responsibility for damage of the original shipment. As the second shipment came properly protected on the edges with a U-Line brand "edge guard," and the first shipment did not, I believe that I was initially sold a used unit passed off for new. I feel this way because not only did the first shipment not have the U-Line guards attached, the ends of the box were so poorly double-taped that one of the ends fell open upon moving unit indoors from the front patio. Also, the box was so compromised, it defied all logic as to why an employee would not select a box in better condition as this box screamed at the viewer that it was victimized by possible numerous forklift drops. Ordeal is over and will not likely purchase another unit from your organization. Also, as I had to dispose of the original shipment, I chose to break it apart to place small pieces in trash bags. I am appalled at the cheap construction methods being used for this furniture. Had I known, I would never have purchased. Selling this qualitiy of furniture to anyone reflects poor personal character on the seller. I cannot continue to interact with people who have no sense of pride in that which they do. This organization demonstrates lack of personal pride.

Picture misleading/poor customer service
The picture appears to show a desk, a cabinet for the computer, and a file cabinet. To my amazement only the desk arrived. As I recall during my Christmas shopping I looked at several desks. I do remember that one item attached to this desk was an additional charge. My son received two desks for Christmas, so I decided to return this one. I contacted amazon. They contacted Furniture Creations. Their response was Please refer to our return policy for further information. Well, there was no phone number and no return policy on the box. Now, I have to pay a 25% restocking fee and pay my own shipping.I just talked to Amazon. Shipping is 64.99, restocking is 32.00. Therefore, to return this item is going to cost 96.99. I paid 132.00. Im not happy with Furniture Creations nor Amazon. Do not buy from a third party supplier!!!!!!!!!!
