This is my exact point. The alarm can be thrown far away and he will still take off with you. Alarm should be attached and stay with you and not the useless pin

I believe batteries last for a year or more but are not replaceable? I bought it for my Granddaughter who is at college. And she loves having it.

Hi, unfortunately, for sake of affordability to as many people as possible, we did not add a water proof feature to this particular group of models. We are currently working on another product that will be weather proof, so check back with us in a couple of months. Thanks!
