Will they go through most thinner leathers , like 6oz and under ?** A: These are tough but they can still break if you put too much force on them. I use them on leather and leather only. Yes they will go through thick leather but you need to consider the thickness of the leather itself before trying to drive this all the way through a massive leather sandwich. Some people will take these and drive them in a little and then get a pricking AWL with a similar type of blade like a diamond shaped blade and use that to finish driving the hole. Remember that leather work is a craft but it also takes a discipline personally to see it through the proper way. If you don't you'll waste loads of time, and possibly resources and money too. The video shows a diamond bladed pricking awl. Diamond bladed just means the shape of the blade, the blade does not use diamonds. This blade I'm showing you is for much larger pricking irons usually for lacing. I hope this helps you some. **Q: where is this made?** A: These are made in China but please don’t let that stop you from getting one. These are very high quality tools well worth the price. The machining and finish is excellent. **Q: Where is the single prong french iron?.** A: From what I found it's usually a small or a medium single toothed/bladed iron. If they don't show it here on amazon you may have to find it elsewhere.
