Best anesthesia book I currently have
As a new SRNA, we have John's book, little miller, barash, m and m. So far I live this book for its direct and clear message on each topic. It is not nearly as wordy as some of the others. The other books listed above try to write in a language that is very flashy instead of delivering the information in a way that you can retain. I have about read this book cover to cover and it is impressive. It is a must have for new SRNA students!

Dr. Nagelhout is the instructor for my Pharmacy class in my CRNA program and he's just simply amazing, there is no other way to describe it. The book takes some very difficult concepts and Dr. Nagelhout simplifies them to help the reader truly understand what is happening. Very helpful resource when needing to find quick information on a case.

Vast improvement on previous editions
I love the 4th edition but updates/corrections have been made in this new version. I love this new book! It makes learning very easy with all of the charts and tables included and is easy to read and understand. In my opinion an essential read for all of those studying Nurse Anesthesia:)

Great resource
Used this book to prepare for my interview along with ICU book and pass CCRN book. This Anesthesia book does not simplify material, and does not have many diagrams/pictures to explain material and if it does, they are black and white. This book is used by my Anesthesia program, that is why I bought it to begin with.

Well Written and Edited
Nicely written and edited. A considerable upgrade in the book's index, which in previous editions was 'sparse' making it difficult to quickly locate needed information. The 5th edition has corrected this shortcoming. Many graphs, tables, and illustrations, making the understanding of the topic being presented much easier. Material is up-to-date and organized effectively.

Ugh
I hate this book. Unorganized, written as if someone is speaking and repetitive. Did I say repetitive. It's not in color, unless you count that it's highlighted with a pale purple throughout. Has a lot of mistakes, and still counting Mr Elijah...Has a lot of research, especially in pharmacology and doesn't tell you what they actually want you to believe (this research says this, this research says that). But alas, the AANA wants us to read this, so I am begrudgingly.

Great to use with iOS VoiceOver
Using the electronic version of the book allows me to use VoiceOver and listen while I read, it helps me keep a pace while studying. Another feature that I think will help when used more is the recommended highlights shown. Great idea!
