Elegantly simple solution
Installed in a Mazada3 CD slot with Pixel 4XL. The sensor is quick to respond and open at approach. It holds the phone tight. It quick charges my Pixel. The release buttons are in a natural position to find easily when reaching for your phone. The only negative I've found is a slight jiggle from the CD slot mount but it's not profound. The best solution if you don't want a magnet mount. I went from the original Pixel XL with an opaque case to my new Pixel 4 in a clear case. I didn't want the metal plate to disrupt the look of my new phone. I have found this to be a great improvement over my previous mount because it's simpler to attach and charge.

Great car mount that keeps your phone charged!
This thing is amazing! I just started DoorDash/Uber eats and needed some type of mount so I could see my phone. I opted with the clamp style vs the magnetic as I read some reviews that if you have a heavier phone (I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max) that sometimes your phone can flip upside down or completely fall off and I do not want to risk the phone either falling in the middle of a drove or fall and crack the screen. So I got this clamp map and it works 100% of the time. Every time you put the phone up to the clamp it will auto open and you just set the phone in the clamp and it auto closes and I will tell you it holds the phone tight, it’s not going anywhere. If for any reason you loose power then you can easily pry the clamp open to get your device. The air vent mount holds onto the vent fairly tightly so I’m not worried about my phone going anywhere. Overall I am very happy with this car mount and highly recommend it. PS: I saw someone posted this can’t keep the phone charged while the screen is on, while using DoorDash/Uber eats and Waze with the screen on full brightness it does charge the phone, slower than normal since your using a lot of power but it will charge the phone and keep it charged.

Awesome (when it works): internal solder break w/ battery
So this is the second phone holder of this type I've bought. I got one for my wife last Christmas and had to suffer with my old holder an appropriate amount of time so hers still felt like a gift and not an afterthought. ;-) ... but really, hers has been a champ and it's a nice little device! Induction (not but not magnetic/mag-safe), the alignment on the bottom + side squeeze means it almost always charges fine but there are some good/bad/unavoidable issues. #1) Quality control isn't great! Lots of people complaining "it doesn't work", blah blah. I ended up buying one used (from amazon) which was return-scammed as a "non-motorized holder" in the return box. Oh well, sent it back, rolled the dice, bought another used one and had to replace the Car/USB adapter b/c that didn't seem like it was working (no big deal, just used a different USB cable), and I also got bit by the "doesn't want to open the jaws after the car is turned off". #2) ...so I opened it up, figuring it was a dead battery or something (as someone else had reviewed/reported/suggested). Bought a little pack of rechargeable CR2032's (I believe) and figured I'd just replace the battery... maybe it was old stock, dead batteries, it's been known to happen. Batteries arrived so I opened it up again and whoomp... turns out it was a broken solder joint from the battery-to-circuit-board. #3) ...there are some fundamental issues w/ the product! Because it's designed for use in a relatively high vibration environment, it's possible that it was working for a bit and then got "jiggled out of place", which is why some people are saying "it stopped working after a month". Very probable that some solder joint busted loose from vibration. #4) ...magnetic charging (by the laws of physics) heats the phone up a bit: In Texas, in Fall, I've gotten at least one kind of "charging paused due to thermal throttling" message. In a typical "bottom-plug" charger, I've very infrequently gotten that message (GPS, long drive, sun directly overhead hitting phone, etc). But if you've got the heater going near the air vents (blowing on the phone) and then sun/magnets/heat... just know that having a regular "backup plug" vs. counting on the magnetic charging would be wise. #5) vent mount sags downwards, cd-mount wobbles quite a bit. Again, kindof unavoidable design flaws in a way. The vent mount is pretty darned good at staying attached, but it does put a lot of weight/stress on the vent-fins. On my wife's car, I got a "long enough" screw and replaced the bottom screw so that it ended up as like a support-bracket to lift the phone/charger "up" and didn't sag so much on the vent. Plasti-dip / silicon tape on the screw-head (any kind of plastic-y bumper would be fine) so it's not scraping the dash, and I'm a lot happier with that setup. On the CD-mount, maybe that same trick would work and help a bit, but I'm very much considering just screwing some sort of bracket directly to the dash "in the right place" so it's more solid/stable, less wobbly, and put "in line" with the instrument panel, GPS, etc. TL/DR: Wife's has been great! Mine, I needed to do a solder-repair on the battery-to-circuit-board clip (not hard at all, but not for newbies). In all cases, extra support/attachment would be very helpful, but you'll get the best outcome if you specifically DIY for your car and use-case.

Finally, a vent clip that is actually secure
I need to give props to iOttie for finally figuring out a method for clipping to a vent that is quite secure. I've been using a broken qi mount for quite some time due to not being able to find something that improved upon that design. This clamps on easily and sturdily onto a vent, and while there is some sagging of the vent, it is minimal compared to older mounts. The mount holds firm and steady. The automatic arm feature works flawlessly and is handy. The USB input is a bit finnicky, but if you settle it right, it seems to be just fine. Charging works well. Very impressed with the device and happy to have found it.

Good concept, terrible execution. Stick with your wired charger
The best part about this charger is that it's just really cool. You hold your phone in front of it, it automatically opens and then closes to hold your phone- it's very futuristic, convenient, and fun to watch. Unfortunately, beyond that I don't have many good things to say about this product. The biggest issue I have is that it ddoesn'tdo its only two jobs very well. When on this stand, my phone says it's connected but not charging. So while it is getting some power, it's not enough to charge the phone and the battery slowly drains s as I drive. As far as the stand goes, it does an excellent job of holding my phone to the stand but the air vent clamp is very poor. It frequently falls off, loosens over time, and is very wobbly with the phone on it in comparison to my old CD mount stand. I imagine this stand would be more stable with the included CD slot mount, but I was really hoping to use the air vent mount. Additionally, because wireless charging causes the phone to heat up and stop accepting a charge, if I were to use the CD mount instead of the vent mount, the lack of airflow would probably make the phone not charge at all. On top of all of this, after installing this charger, I kept finding myself getting headaches while driving and couldn't figure out what it was. Today, when I was sitting in my car with the radio and AC off, I realized that the cause of my headache was a very high-pitched whine coming from this wireless charger. It stopped when it was unplugged, but anytime the charger had power it emitted a loud, almost inaudible tone (imagine a dog whistle in your car). Given all of these issues and the steep price tag for this product, it is impossible to recommend this. iOttie's regular one-touch mounts are great, so I would strongly, strongly recommend getting one of those and avoiding this wireless charger.

Life Changing
This is going to be a glowing review. This has drastically changed my life. It’s so amazing to bring a quality charger with you in the car. Let’s go over a few things: - VERY sturdy in the CD slot of my 2007 Toyota. It comes with a connection to the vent or the CD player. I haven’t tried the vent, but the CD player is great. It never moves at all, unless I physically rotate it. - does not have a usb plug, but instead has to be directly connected to the cigarette lighter. There is a bonus usb outlet on it. I would have liked a usb cord only. - charges are a normal speed. I haven’t noticed it faster or slower than my wireless charger in the house. - the automatic arms are excellent and reliable. It auto senses my phone and opens the arms. Then it closes with the perfect amount of force to secure the phone but not squeeze hard. - I remove my phone from the case every time, so I don’t know how it would work with a case. I have an iPhone XR - the build quality is fantastic (even though the packaging makes it seem cheap and crappy). It’s definitely well-made. - With the sun, heat, cold, bumpy roads, etc. it is very durable - UNBELIEVABLE warranty. I contacted iOttie on their website and they easily sent a replacement part for free within a day and a half. -Phone gets hot so I angle the vents at it and blast A/C. I recommend turning down the brightness to avoid the heat. It's not a big deal because the phone continues to charge. Be sure to cool it down! tl;dr It’s a great product that’s well made and works awesome. You can find cheaper ones, but this is worth every penny.

Works well, but not perfect.
I am using this car charger with the CD mount and a Oneplus 9 Pro with a UAG case on it. CD Mount - Easy to install but wobbles. The CD mount is mostly good, but has some issues. The tightening mechanism is just a plastic flip that locks it into place (think vice grip feel) and has no *good* adjustments. It comes with a spacer to make it tighter, but that's it. My CD slot is apparently just slightly too small for the spacer and just slightly too big for a super tight fit without the spacer. A previous mount I used had a screw tensioner that worked better. As a result, if you're not in a vehicle with an ultra smooth ride the screen of your phone will vibrate. Not so much you can't use it by any means, but enough to be a bit distracting. Auto Open and Close: Works well, but the 'battery' must be really small. I've not had any issues with the auto open and close function while the car is running. I rest my phone against it for a second and it opens, I lean the phone in and it close and grips it snugly. It's easy to pull the phone out without releasing it, but I have never had it bump out from driving. The mount does have a built in battery to allow you to open it (with a button press) after the car has turned off but it must have an extraordinarily small capacity or it does not work sometimes, as its hit or miss whether or not it will actually release the phone after I turn the car off. Again though, it's simple to turn the phone and get it out, but I have not had a good experience specifically with the manual release after stopping. Charging - Does an ok job, but needs more power for bigger phones. I have a OnePlus 9 Pro with a UAG case on it. The case is fairly thick, however it does achieve warp charging with oneplus gear at home with OnePlus's own wireless desk charger. With this car charger it will achieve a connection every time, however the speed of the charge is on the low side. On a two hour car trip with the phone active as GPS, playing spotify, and during the daylight (so the screen was bright), and going through wireless dead zones, the phone lost approximately 3% charge for the whole trip while charging. Granted, that was intense battery drain so the charger made a huge difference over not having it, however it either would only keep up or slowly drain. On the way back at night with the screen darker, it charged up about 2% battery over the 2 hour drive. I don't know if it's the position of the charger (I have the mount set for maximum phone size) or the case (could be, but it works elsewhere) or if it's just the power, but for long trips where you may need to actually charge your phone I recommend doing some manual battery conservation - low power mode or dimmer or lower resolution, etc. Overall I'm happy with the charger, I just wish the CD mount was more stable and it charged faster.

Sturdy with neat closing feature
Very happy with this mount, seems like a great deal for one for the CD player + wireless charger. Very sturdy connection in my CD player, others i tried were lacking this.

Ok for first month
Had it for 2 months lost all its initial Grip into the vents and it’s firmness and now just falls out of the vents every 5 mins. Will be returning for refund

Good Product. Alas the plastic is not strong enough
I bought one of these in June. Product works brilliantly. Unfortunately the bottom lip on which the phone rests is not very strong and snapped. Spare parts and services are not available in the UAE. So it looks like I will have to scrap the whole device unless I can find a replacement for that small part. It would be helpful it iOTTIE had a local partner in the UAE once can speak to get these minor issues sorted out.

Excelente producto
