I bought this pump to fix an outdoor water fountain. I wasn't sure which pump to get, so after a lot of digging and reading, settled on the flow rate of this one. Still wasn't sure how it was going to perform until I installed it. For this reason, I've included a video which hopefully will help someone else. For scale, the pump sits approximately 12" under the sphere on my fountain, and as you can see in the video it gushes into a trickle rather than spraying from the top, which is what I wanted as it's more subtle and quieter. I'm not overly impressed with the cord, how thin it is or that it's not grounded. It's actually rather dangerous that the plug isn't grounded, so please keep that in mind if you have anyone/anything touching the water like pets or children. Otherwise, for your safety, make sure to unplug the power before touching the water. Keep in mind also that this pump doesn't meet any of our electrical standards for this reason. If this is important I'd recommend going with another pump.

Works Great

I bought this to use in a swamp cooler I was making out of a 3-gallon bucket. I just needed it to lift the water through a 1/2" vinyl tubing line about 1 to 2 feet high. The water was clean. There was nothing in the bucket that could clog it up. I plugged it in, and I think it may have worked for about 3 seconds, and then nothing. No difference plugged or unplugged. Just dead. But, it was so cheap (and the packaging got torn)...so it's not even worth returning it. I'm just chalking this up to getting a lemon (or me doing something wrong). Looks like other people are getting working units. The pump I bought for the first swamp cooler I made worked like a champ, and it was like $15 (and before you guys make fun of me for building DIY swamp coolers, check out the prices of portable AC units and the read the review there -- plus, it's kind of cool to build your own stuff). tl;dr - 1/5, would not recommend.

No it arrived with missing the cover to increase and decrease flow

This is a powerful little pump. I bought it to make a bubbling fountain in a bird bath, and it's perfect for that use. It's easy to clean, and it has good water flow output. The suction cups on the bottom hold well on the bottom of the bird bath. I appreciate that this one has a long cord which works well for my setup.
