Better than expected
I expected this to be trash. I needed an add-on to get free overnight shipping and thought why not. My friend use to have a recording studio in the attic where we lived and it was pretty well treated against reflections. He had a nice set up with even bass traps and stuff. Nearly 20k+ equipment in a college dorm.I knew I’d likely never have a setup like that so I got a Shure SM7b, which is a dynamic mic. It has great off-axis rejection on nearly every side except behind. This means it works pretty well in less treated rooms and is good at blocking ambient noise. I used to live in line of an airport and a busy Highway, so that was important. All this to say: I thought these would do nothing, but they immediately reduced reflections. My noise sounds less boxy and almost echo-y. A much dryer, crisp sound. I might buy more of these panels lol.A little goes a long way, but I didn’t really need to stop side reflections. Put a few of these behind and to the side of you and you’ll be surprised.I didn’t soak them in water or wait very long. They immediately popped up and seemed like the right dimensions. I left them a few hours and they looked the same. Basically zero smell.I left them overnight just in case, but they still looked fully expanded and didn’t smell.I used 3M medium command strips to hang them up. They are super light so that might even be overkill. But it was a lot easier and cheaper than spray or double-sided tape. These are a great value and for my purposes did more than enough. If you want something to isolate sound or sound proofing, this is not the product. But if you want to minimize noise bouncing everywhere, this is great. Plan to get a lot more than me if you have a bare room with no furniture or use a condenser mic.

Love the design.
They came packed well, compressed down to almost nothing, from the air being removed from the bag. One square has two pieces, which pull apart. After letting them sit a while, i cut squares of 3m reusable Velcro and attached them at each corner and the middle of the foam. They are about 5.5mm thick, so the panels come off the door slightly. I may opt for the dots that are available in the future. No idea if they do what they're supposed to do, but they look great all over my room. Definitely going to buy more.

It's great, but expect to throw some away & manage expectations.
Bought a 36pc and an 18pc. Both times soon as ive taken it out of the packaging at least 80% of them expanded perfectly on their own in minutes, the other 10% needed some extra time or manipulation (rubbing, gently pulling apart). The other 10% were completely unsalvageable so expect to throw some away. (8 out of 54 in total, might be more or less for you.)I love the look, good quality for its price, makes the room look way cooler(I used command strips), just dont expext it to solve all your problems. best case scenario it helps get rid of echo and keeping a bit more sound inside your room.

Value for the money!!!!
I have a 450-capacity wine cabinet in my dining room (DON'T ASK!!!)It keeps our wines in great condition, BUT the compressor sounds like a UFO is escaping and a Stealth bomber is going after it!I put these Acoustic Studio Absorption Foam Panels up using 2 sided adhesive strips, and OMG!!!!!! These made a substantial difference in the sound level in my dining room. Also in the bedroom, the TV room and way over there in the kitchen. It keeps our wines in great condition, BUT the compressor sounds lie a UFO is escaping and a Stealth bomber is going after it!.Sadly, the next day was a day of ruin. The stupid 2 sided adhesive strips stuck to the wall.... but let loose on the foam tiles!!!!! They were all over the floor, and my blissful moment came to a vulgar end. After much research.... and several of those perfectly stored bottles of wines I came to the realization that all double sided strips, spray glues, and even glue guns will eventually fail. On the drywall side, or more often....actually ....OFTEN, they will drop the foam tiles. The internet consensus is that the best way to put these up... AND KEEP THEM UP.... is to use push pins, or thumbtacks.....DONE!!!!!!!

Great... Mostly.
To start, I got two packs of these to line my game room. Most of the tiles are great and I ended up having quite a few extra to spare. The issue with these guys is that they vacuum seal twice. They to take shape easily if you let them sit for a few days, you don't need to shove them in the bath. The issue came When I stated to dig through the tiles and pick ones to mount. They are not equal. I would say around 20 or so of the 72 (2 x 36 packs) I ordered were misshaped or have defects on the ends of them that ruins the look. That's around 25% of the tiles! The price is also just a bit expensive for the amount of defects I got. The good tiles look great and adhere well to the wall. I did try to soak the defects, it did not work.If you plan to trim or cut this, it won't matter, but since I put them up whole and wound up with a pile of "rejects" I can't give this 5 stars.

Work fantastically
Im shocked at how great these work. My Cane Corso barks very loud and my wife works from home. These dampened her bark so well that you can hardly hear her. I am so happy with these for sound dampening.

Not acoustic foam. Just regular foam. Stay away.
I should have known this would be too good to be true. Its just regular foam and does absolutely nothing for helping control sound, even in the mid and high frequencie. I have actual acoustic foam I bought several years ago and it's not the same. The real stuff is much more dense and stiff. This stuff is much less dense and is floppy. Its makes a nice seat cushion though. It was a complete waist of money and wish I had purchased elsewhere. It's a great money making scheme on their part though. They are likely making a killing selling regular foam as acoustic foam and most of you actually think it's helping the sound of your music. I wish I would have thought of such a clever scheme.

Kept light from entering air vent.
Used this to block out lights from entering the room from the air vent. Working great!
