Instead, it utilizes a custom machined stud that screws into the towhook receptacle. All parts are made from Stainless Steel to ensure no rust. The mounting hardware utilizes nylock nuts or lock washers which will not loosen from vibration. The plate attachment screws are button head socket cap screws for a nice clean look. Review: Solid construction, easy to install, and fits very well inside the bumper pocket - When it comes to front license plate placement, I think this is probably the best bracket for the Supra currently on the market. Solid construction, easy to install, and fits very well inside the bumper pocket. Some minor things I would have liked: less extra hardware, powder coating or painted finish, and a redesigned offset bracket that would mount to the middle holes in the backing plate. Review: Works as advertised - The install was straightforward, the instructions were OK. The top right mount of the plate is a bit awkward due to the small clearance between the bumper and the plate. The aesthetics of the Supra are nicer with the plate mounted using this kit, IMO. A couple of thoughts: I chose to use an anti-seize grease rather than WD-40 mentioned in the instructions. WD-40 is not listed as an anti-seize product, and if the tow hook is needed, you don't want to struggle with removing the plate kit. Also, wrenches needed to remove the kit should be kept in the car, again, if a tow is needed using the front tow port you need to be able to get the plate kit off. The only way to free up the towing port is to reverse the installation process. Because the license plate is recessed it can't be rotated to take out the whole assembly. Instead the plate must be removed from its frame to access the arm that holds the frame.
