The bottle says enhanced scent with peppermint oil in the other ingredients. The softgel smells faintly of peppermint, but other than that, there is not enough to mention.

Are the softgels vegan?

Yes. They're even mint flavor to cover the algae taste.

How is the oil extracted?

That is a question I also had, I haven't found out yet, I won't reorder until I know.

does this product also contain iodine?

Iodine is not listed as one of the ingredients but you winder what the reporting limits are, so you could try contacting the company to ask if trace amounts of iodine are in these oil gels. My guess is you'll get a negative, meaning a determination that the product has been tested for many things, and results show that no iodine is found.
