As we can all clearly read it does say "medium" thumb picks. Which suggests the sizing to be small, medium, and large. What measurement those sizes represent, to be honest, I don't know. I don't know if there is a specific and exact sizing in cm or whatever. As I under it, it's not like having a ring remeasured to have it altered, where the jeweler will deal with exact sizing. All I can suggest is if you have small hands, like some women do then maybe curl your forefinger around the underside of your thumb and pick to help hold it in place. If you have bigger hands, like some men do, then maybe you won't need to do that. What I will add is that, although I do have big hands I do light place my forefinger as I described to assist guiding the pick because I've found that if I don't, then while I'm playing my instrument the pick can tend to slide around to the underside of my thumb. Although what I feel I must add is that when I'm strumming I tend to place my index finger against the under side of the thumb pick to help hold it in place because I found the thumb pick would to move around a little. As I understand it, it does depend on how hard you strum. I hope that helps. **Q: Would these fit the finger of a child10 1/2 years of age.** A: The thumb picks you appear to be talking about are, as far as I understand it, the plastic moulded picks. In which case I would suggest that maybe they'd be too big, but then it does depend on the size of the child hands. That child might have big hands for their age. What you can do is buy metal picks which, when the pick is on the players thumb, the metal can be depressed or pulled apart to fit the size of the thumb more accurately and comfortably. It was catching on the strings when I would down strum..! But now I've filed it down it's great and doesn't catch.I think it would be better if the slight flick outwards on the part that loops around the thumb wasn't like that.To sum it up.
