GasWatch TVL214 Digital Tank Scale, Blue

I shower more patience with this product than wit many others of better quality; I kind of wanted to have it working PROPERLY... This is why I allowed seven weeks before completely giving-up on it and writing this honest review.The idea of having a permanent scale which assesses the quantity of gas in your tank is not bad at all, however there is a certain procedure when replacing the tank; you need to reset the device and set it again for the desired (actual) tank size and you need to so at EACH tank replacement. That would not even be so bad; the bad thing is the reading of the propane amount being inaccurate. It happened twice already that it shower 70%, when in fact the tank went empty. This is what it was meant for, in the first place; to let you know that you're running low... Happened twice out of two attempts. My advice is to move toward a different product, even if you will spend a few bucks more, at least you might have a chance to actually use it. Mine is beyond return and it will go straight to the recycle bin.

The item raised the tank high enough that it was difficult to turn the valve off withiut burning my hand on the tray above. It was also very difficult to mount the tank in the unit in the small space under the BBQ. During this struggle the tank slipped and broke the onnector, which now made the unit useless.. I know I should have removed the connector whenm mounting the tank.

This seems to work amazingly well and is quite durable. We use in an unorthodox manner: In a camper. For a year, we have gone bumping down the road and, to our surprise, it continues to work perfectly. Saves us an inordinate amount of effort determining when to change the tank. Hint: Since it is outside in the wind blast of highway travel, the meter is enclosed in a plastic bag and the connection point of the meter to the base is sealed with non-hardening caulking putty.

This unit works as advertised, however, it is Very not waterproof. The cable that runs from the display to the scale is a basic computer style cable and the instructions warn you to keep the whole thing dry. In other words, don't leave it on your BBQ grill that sits anywhere near weather.Other little issues, you have to select your empty tank weight for it to calculate how much gas is left. The weight of a tank I happened to buy at a Big Box Store was not on the list. Only a little inaccuracy to the readings but annoying just the same.It does work, and if you have a setup where it'll stay dry enough I'm sure it will work just fine however I'd much rather have a unit that *I* could leave on the grill all the time, it would be much more useful.

The digital tank scale is as expected and seems to be accurate. Setting cannot be more than 20 lbs but can get up to 19 so it's close enough to stop using the tank when you get to 5%. Not sure why the package box describe a different model number TVL217 ? I found that part a little bit confusing.

It was delivered USED?? What company does this kind of crap. Remote screen scratched and everything uncovered and loose. This company and product are terrible

Works great but the User's Guide is pretty weak in identifying what different tanks are supposed to weigh. Know that it doesn't extend to weighing very big tanks.

works as advertised, just wish the display unit was not corded. also, the display does not update as the tank is being used. it seems like you have to turn it off and back on to get it to update.
