Refreshing Bible Teachings
I bought a copy of this - as did my friend. Sometimes Bible doctrine becomes deep and complicated. This simplifies the messages in the Bible. The illustrations are lovely. Many of the stories are abbreviated, but I was grateful for that. I would recommend it - especially if you are tired of being screamed at by angry pastors who seem to enjoy ripping the grace right out of the Bible ... and what Jesus actually did for us.

Gift worthy great for children
Bought this three times as a gift. I will buy one for myself even though I am an adult with KJV bibles, this is great for foundational knowledge for any age. Beautiful and great writing.

Best Bible to encourage enthusiasm.
This book is breathtaking. Illustrations are beautiful & create a beautiful setting for the stories. Introduction sets the stage for wanting to know more. I'm sure my grandchildren will enjoy reading this with or without me. I was worried that the writing would be to young for the 10 - 12 yr olds but it's not. It's written so they can concentrate on the meaning of the text & not worrying about meaning of the words. This was an answer to my prayers. Thank you to those who provided the input & to Golden Book for the continued efforts to bring great reading to our children.

Worth the price!
I purchased this for my little boy and I love laying in bed at night with him listening to God’s word! The pictures are nice and my kiddos love looking at everything in the illustrations. hardcover is thick and pages aren’t too thin! Great value!!!

This is a great buy for children.And adults
This book is a must buy.Not only for children but also adults.My husband was having a hard time reading the bible.Itself, so I bought him this one, and it literally just drew him in and helped him understand things.So much clearer!

Best children's Bible EVER
This is by far the BEST children's Bible. My parent's bought me one of these in 1981 and it was my favorite book. My mom read it to us all of the time. I still have it. It is a bit worn, so I didn't want to give it to my children in fear that it may fall apart. I was ECSTATIC to find the newer version and immediately purchased it. I am so happy that nothing changed. All of the illustrations are the same. The only thing that is different is the cover. The back cover is the same illustrations, but a different color. Flipping through the pages was a road trip down memory lane. I have purchased my kids several illustrated Bibles, but none compared to this. I wasn't sure if this was even still in print. I am so glad that I was able to find it. This was a magical book for me, and I hope my children also cherish it.

Not just for children!
As a Christian, I believe The New Testament is God's present and permanent will for all of mankind, so all adult Christians need to regularly read and live a "grown-up" translation of The New Testament, and of course, study The Old Testament, because the whole Bible is about Christ. With that said, I would imagine that many Christians have either spent little time studying and reading The Old Testament, or have forgotten many of the stories. This wonderful book can remind you of the details of the stories you forgot. My wife is a new Christian and finds this book very helpful for simplifying a difficult task for an adult that has never studied the Bible... getting up to speed on God's relationship with man through time - the whos, wheres, and whys. In summary, even for an adult, this will give you a broad sweep through the Bible and is an excellent refresher of prior knowledge or an excellent book for a new believer, before taking on the actual book from which we never stop learning, no matter how old we are.

Perfect for older children
the illustrations are GORGEOUS!!! and it reminds me of my childhood illustrated bible my mother gave me from her childhood. Very beautiful all around and HUGE, this isn't a little childs bible, this is for children who are good readers or have the attention span to listen to you tell a long story. These are in depth, very little paraphrasing. This is great for those kids ready to read longer passages.
