The Golden Children's Bible: A Full-Color Bible for Kids

I bought a copy of this - as did my friend. Sometimes Bible doctrine becomes deep and complicated. This simplifies the messages in the Bible. The illustrations are lovely. Many of the stories are abbreviated, but I was grateful for that. I would recommend it - especially if you are tired of being screamed at by angry pastors who seem to enjoy ripping the grace right out of the Bible ... and what Jesus actually did for us.

Bought this three times as a gift. I will buy one for myself even though I am an adult with KJV bibles, this is great for foundational knowledge for any age. Beautiful and great writing.

My children loved the Bible; it is beautifully illustrated!

This book is a must buy.Not only for children but also adults.My husband was having a hard time reading the bible.Itself, so I bought him this one, and it literally just drew him in and helped him understand things.So much clearer!

This book is breathtaking. Illustrations are beautiful & create a beautiful setting for the stories. Introduction sets the stage for wanting to know more. I'm sure my grandchildren will enjoy reading this with or without me. I was worried that the writing would be to young for the 10 - 12 yr olds but it's not. It's written so they can concentrate on the meaning of the text & not worrying about meaning of the words. This was an answer to my prayers. Thank you to those who provided the input & to Golden Book for the continued efforts to bring great reading to our children.

I cannot express how happy I am to have finally found this copy - but I will try. I, like many others, grew up with this copy of the Bible as children. Now that I have children of my own, a wave of nostalgia hit as I remembered pouring through these pictures for years. I searched and searched for a reasonably priced copy - going so far as to call local new and used bookshops in my area - to no avail. I thankfully found copies on Amazon - but boy they were expensive. I decided it was worth it so I put it on a wishlist to put off for another time. Lo and behold a week ago the "you might like this" had a copy for $14...rougly 80% less than what I had originally saved it for. New?!? I thought it was too good to be true - that this was going to be some cheap copy some nefarious printer had run off on a local copy machine - but it was $14 so what the hey right? Once I got it it was the copy I had remembered and wanted so badly for my young children. A very study backing and spine. All of the pictures faithfully reprinted. NOTHING is missing (except my own childhood sadface). My kids (age 3 and 5) are enjoying the pictures as much as I did - not to mention the words. No more namby pamby kid's bible that tell nothing of the true stories. This is the Bible - vengeful, petty God and all - as the book details in reality.

PICTURES ARE GOOD. STORY LINE INCUDES VERSES THAT TELL THE MAJOR PARTS OF THE BIBLE STORY LINE.

I used to read stories from this Bible.The pictures are awesome. I have recommended it for my cousins and friends. My brother also bought it.very understanding simple language.

the illustrations are GORGEOUS!!! and it reminds me of my childhood illustrated bible my mother gave me from her childhood. Very beautiful all around and HUGE, this isn't a little childs bible, this is for children who are good readers or have the attention span to listen to you tell a long story. These are in depth, very little paraphrasing. This is great for those kids ready to read longer passages.

The best bible book for your children.Biblically accurate stories, beautiful illustrations and simple ,easy to understand words make it an interesting and engaging book even for adults..
